2003 Ford Expedition 5.4L / DPFE Sensor Wiring/ Repeated Failures

Hi,if the reference voltage to that sensor is 5V,you should not see 6V,as per Haynes,so not sure if all your data is correct. Just going off standardish, older school type sensors, the higher voltages,up to the reference,5V,would indicate obstruction to the gas flow. All these systems are prone...

2003 Ford Expedition 5.4L / DPFE Sensor Wiring/ Repeated Failures

Hi,without seeing any wiring diagrams,or knowing any other faults,it is a bit guessy.....but a ground wire should be 0V in reference to a ground or negative. There are several reasons why a wire you are certain is a ground, gives the voltages you list, and a faulty differential sensor,is not one...

Cable sizing for 50kW windmill ?

    I've just caculated,that 50kW will power 2 X 25 tonne mill stones,on a dual trough type flour mill,plus all lifts,augers and ancillaries.....average wind conditions,friction losses,etc,guessed at,but there or thereabouts.... I think it was the combination of watching Fred Dibnah,in a working...

Cable sizing for 50kW windmill ?

Hi,any assessment of capacity, will need quite a few details, and some testing. The type and size of cable,is a start, also the method of previous use of generated power, either direct or alongside. I'm guessing you are not building a 50kW nacelle, from an old washing machine? so maybe contact your...

EV charging point in a terraced house

Crackin idea....we can link them all together, and connect them to a pair of tin strips, centre of each carriageway...then finally, after years of ridicule and derision, from all my pals,i can at last, wheel my full scale scalextric, out of the garage, and take Greta out,on the ride of a lifetime.?

EV charging point in a terraced house

I can see more and more of these type of access issues, regarding charging....i suppose it will start to self-regulate,when the limiting factor, starts to be supply and infrastructure....i know i'm glad not to be in the charger fitting job....? ....you can bet my first three fitting jobs, would be...

    Running boiler with no electric

No surprise that Lucien has covered the question nicely? I will only add, that battery sizing, needs to take account of not depleting your stated Ah rating beyond 50%,and that more modern boilers and heaters of the Webasto,Eberspacher, etc type, have low voltage threshold, included in their control...

    Earth rod driving stud size

Having spent some time in the Piling job, where motorised percussive driving,is usually faster and easeir,i prefer using an old TE72 hilti, and that gets through most materials, given chance. I wouldn't be shy of using a sledge...i own two 56lb items, which nobody is rushing to borrow, but they are...

    Earth rod driving stud size

The higher quality rods are threaded to UNC-2A ,and that would be an imperial 1 1/8" A/F,but as they are not made as a fastener, they can use any combination of size/type. A 26mm socket is included in larger sets.to pickup imperial sizes, between the standard metric increments.

    20 amp double pole switches

Hi,have you done all appropriate tests,to ensure this fault is the switch? You would not want to obtain the best double pole switch in the world, only to find out there are other issues. How are the grid switches configured, for these two machines? ...I bet it's easier to reset the RCD,than...

    Am I missing something here?!

Yep,i'd be going for inrush issues, had similar fault on what looked like a suitably rated timer/relay,and the contacts had welded - twice,on,two separate devices. A borrowed instrument, capable of measuring the short but peaky current, enabled a warranty claim,on what was a specified part.

UK Would you consider these accessorries too close to the hob?

What's new? ...well...the worlds sicker, sadder and sillier...but,with a good sense of humour and some grit,it's all possible. Never had a bigger variety of jobs...not all resulting in golden eggs, but, all gratefully remunerated. I've just got engineering to deal with,me sisters have the soggy...

    OR......a hinged lid,over the hob,with a micro-switch,interlocking a contactor,isolating supply to that socket.... I may be over thinking it,but i'm out in the rain shortly,wrestling the floppy,broken gear stick,off a small tractor,so this keeps me dry and cheerful ...
