    Raggling chimney breast

Hi,what type of fire is it,and does it have a flexible flue, register plate or lintel? Other factors would be depth of chase, due to origin of supply, and any heat, likely to affect cable/fittings. Standardish chimney breast would be two courses at the side, but maybe one up the front,which...

    Fault find RFC, next socket

Another tip,is to expect, the unexpected. Take all information in to account, and do not ignore a reading or lack of one, just because it ruins what you hoped for 😄 You WILL,sooner or later, get the cross links, bad joins, variations in cable size, type, material, and a lot of other surprises. The...

    Name of Device being used?

It's a changeover valve. You can just make out the arrow symbols,in the first picture, which show direction/port connection,in it's actuated and at rest position. Match it correctly,as some have exhaust facility, some not.

    Extraneous part issue?

I reckon a 12" piece of alkathene, split lengthways, and snapped in place, would have served as both protection and identity. .....Then i have drove back from Bristol, using some fishing line,as a throttle cable ?

Do 3 phase boards usually have RCD protection in commercial settings?

Hi,could be you need to see more boards ? It could be the nature of your installations, might be downstream of your boards.... If you have time for contemplation, figure a way of a 10kW shower,a 5kW heat pump, and a 6kW car charger being powered by using the weather?

Looking for suggestions to buy cordless drills (for contractors)?

I got some nice jobs round Gretas, due to the fact, that when i quoted,i showed her me compact wind turbine powered battery charger. We had to open all the windows,to keep the 12 Ah batteries up to speed, and she had to put more coal on her fire,so i'm not doing anymore work, for her ? ....it's...

Looking for suggestions to buy cordless drills (for contractors)?

Hi,the choice of cordless anything,is always down to several factors...cost,use,personal choice, and yes, even fashion. There is also a big trend on most youtube tutorials, for doing everything, with a battery tool...you see chopsaws, table saws with big double battery packs....and a socket outlet,2...

I always thought heat pumps were expensive waste of time

You are correct, regarding the building standards....i still meet brickies, joiners and ground workers, who have no idea that the building standards listed on the average plans, are the minimum standard. Not the best,or recommended,or even the most applicable...but just the least they expect. I...

I always thought heat pumps were expensive waste of time

Hi,by his own admission,it was a rant ?,and one based on his many years in the job. I didn't notice any bias towards advising gas boiler fitting, just an overview of what he,personally sees,as the current state of affairs. There was enough technical input, commensurate with a 'layperson'...
