    AFDD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget, I mentioned nothing about additional protection by RCD, i.e. a 30mA device, I was referring to 0.3A devices, 300mA, for prevention of fire, as per BS7671 clause 422.3.9.

    AFDD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know, I have access to the standard.:) I used 2.5, because it is, the, minimum detection level in the standard.:sunglasses: I took this up with “the industry” at Elex Alexandra Palace in 2018, I took this up with the IET just after the DPC for the 18th was published, outside my comments on...

    AFDD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that the testing is not laboratory level, but would those arcs not be more akin to that which would be found in the real world? Which is surely what matters rather than precise laboratory generated arcs from signal generators which exactly match the algorithms that the device is...

Paying yourself through a Ltd as a subby

Why are you subbing to your own Ltd. Co. why not just be employed by it as the sole director? I'm a one person Ltd. Co. I don't have a UTR nor am I involved with CIS. I am employed PAYE by the company, I get a payslip monthly from the accountant, because they do the wages for me as part of the...

hello i`mfrom nitpit would you .

I don’t recall the exact names, but the tree covered a lot of the big organisations in the industry, & the same names were behind them. Sorry it was a while ago, but what stuck was that the names at the top of most of the massive organisations that seem to control the industry were the same ones...

hello i`mfrom nitpit would you .

Don't forget that the ECA owns part of Certsure, so it cannot be a charity because the ECA is NOT a charitable organisation, the interlinking is a bit more complex than your post suggests, and it needs a bit of research on companies house, the charity commission website, and other such resources...

    commercial meter tails

Peeps you are presuming that the tails haven’t been given a haircut! It would not be the first time for me to find wiring given a trim to fit into a connection.

    machine wiring help ..............

Strictly speaking the control system can't be modified to add an emergency stop as is, because, the laws around machinery would require a full assessment of the machine and this function. Emergency stops must meet a minimum of iSO 13489-1 performance level C unless the machine c-type standard...

    Anyone go their email addresses?

That I can tell, you, personally, none. What is needed, is for the industry to collaborate and join together to improve, and help each other to influence these people who have a strangle hold. I think that there needs to be work done on this in several ways, at least one of which is for some of...

    Anyone go their email addresses?

I don't follow, your point. Murdoch asked if anyone had them and I answered him, after the robust debates that I have had with Murdoch, I though that it was a good thing my answering one of his threads with a respectful comment. Actually their emails are quite easy to find. Certainly Geoffs' is.

    Anyone go their email addresses?

Well, I can't publish them, so how can I prove it, I was interviewed by Geoff for a job, and I was invited to Savoy Place, to a "do" and the both of them were on the invite list.

    Anyone go their email addresses?

Actually, yes I do have their email addresses, but, there are bigger things afoot, and I can't give them out. They will know very shortly what is thought of the new bad book, big time!

    Split Concentric Termination

The current version of BS951 prohibits the use of such a clamp in this manner. If the cable is buried then unless it has suitable additional mechanical protection then it is not in accordance with BS7671.

    Dangerous upgrade to crabtree rcbo's

Neutral is a live conductor, we all know this. It is in contravention of EAWR to work with live conductors unless it is unreasonable for them to be dead. In a domestic situation this is never so. A modern RCBO consumes energy to power the electronics, ergo there is a current down the neutral fly...
