    Steel Channelling vs PVC Channelling

Neither, personally I prefer to use 0val tube. Looks neater and you can easily pull through it.

    Take a day off mate...

I do like it how they do installs in europe with PVC pipe or NYM. The Step relays for lighting in domestic isn't a bad shout either.

Don't really understand the issue here? Factory manager has already agreed to rewire the lighting so just use something with sheathing like nyyj or fp.

    Fibreglass extension ladder

I have a double 4m werner fibreglass set. They are very rigid and handy to use separated but very unwieldy and heavy with just one person if you are using as extensions.

    Conduit cabling sizes

Designers can't depend on the integrity of the installation nowadays and hence rightly specify separate CPC conductors. The quality of kit available now is atrocious, brass bushes are paper thin and I'm comming across malleable boxes that are not threaded straight which is irksome for besa...

    Volt drop..................................................

hi all, I have a situation where I would need to supply a 40kW installation from a Generator situated 300 meters away (not ideal). As this is a private LV supply up to 8% VD is permissible as per App. 4 Sect 6.4 in the BYB. However it then goes on to state that final circuits should not exceed...

    COMPEX potentially explosive atmospheres

Hi, I didn't use any prior material other than the practitioners guide book which you can purchase from the eemua website but will usually be provided on the course. Install practical is straight forward enough to be honest and you install to the minimum standard.

    Old Italian installation methods....

This is NYIF cable, used to be very popular on the continent and was even experimented with in this country on high-rise council blocks. It is usual practice to fix through the sheathing although this cable is usually direct burial only. Italy must be one of the exceptions that allow surface...

    Alternative to generic BS4568 conduit

Is there any reason why I couldn't install heavy gauge black malleable pipe to bs1387 instead of generic electric conduit to BS4568 where greater impact resistance is required? Assuming of course the pipe was identified as such.
