Just like a Electrical Trainee then?
Luckily I didn't do it through a centre then, I did my NVQ and AM2 as part of my apprenticeship. I was mearly pointing out that the NVQ portfolio was open to fraudulent activity and a longer and more in depth AM2 is needed IMO.
When I did my nvq, you did not have to do all the cable types. Although all you had to was write a report on 3 jobs and you could make up anything and say you've done it. Thinking about it, the NVQ means sweet F all because apart from the AM2 there was nothing stopping you from completely...
Possibly due to the fact that if you are going to the hassle of buying a steel enclosure and insulated DB then I would suggest it would be easier and cheaper to just fit a AMD3 DB?
Apologies for the spelling mistakes and lack of info as I had posted on my phone.
Did a bit of digging myself tonight.
The property is actually a prefab dwelling built I suspect very soon after WW2. The building is of steel construction and was wired In VIR with Metallic Braid.

Looking back, it maybe a tinned copper braid - possibly covered in rubber however there was copious amounts I removed and found no evedence of a previous outer sheath of rubber.
Still, better than the carp we install nowadays.....
Came across some old imperial cable today. Seems to be tinned copper with VIR then a fabric wrap and and steel over braid.
Never seen it braided before but what shocked me was the fact that the cable integrity was perfect. VIR was like new.
What was the large 7core used for...
Not really an issue is it? Could do with a couple of clips in the smaller unit but otherwise fit for purpose.
What sort of impacts that are going to threaten the integrity of the conductor are you expecting this cable to be subject to when it is clipped tight to the back of the unit??
I have done alot of LED lighting in an area industrial and commercial setting over the past year, mainly 600x600 LED panels, Twin IP66 5FT twin strips and Bulkheads with Integral Microwave sensors.
Increased Brightness in an office environment's have been a major complaint and the Increased...
When wall's are that thin I just plaster my boxes in with a bit of bonding and pva. Do all boxes in one hit and they're all ready to wire in 30 mins. No drilling through walls.
Will outlast any **** that has been manufactured and installed today... well, until a Electrical Trainee gets in there and says its against the law and a fire hazard.
