Using extraneous metal as bonding conductor

Can't be much more "assured" than having heavy gauge screwed steel pipe. As for Csa equivalent pretty sure I'm good there too if 32mm conduit is equivalent to a 15mm2 copper cable.

Using extraneous metal as bonding conductor

Hi, Scenario, Oil service to a church boiler is at the furthest point to the distribution board. Rather than run a separate bonding conductor to the oil service I've decided to bond the 3" cast iron heating pipework local to the DB then take a fly lead at the boiler from the CH pipework to...

    A Weekend Get together

Bletchley is fantastic, I've been twice now and seeing the Bombe machine in the flesh is something special for those like me with a passion for engineering.

    Building own shed?

Hi all, I want a 18x10 shed/workshop to keep the bike and general stuff in however the sheds on the market are either overpriced or clad in wafer-thin timber. Anybody built their own and how did you go about it? Cheers

    Our boys!

I moved into industrial maintenance last year and its almost a different world to contracting. The pressure is intense when production is stopped but its also really satisfying when you get it back up and running. At 24 I've got so much to learn but I'm thankful that the firm took a chance and...

    SOX replacement

Wondering what the options are for upgrading/replacing 90w SOX streetlights. All ours are remote control gear in the base of the posts. Pain when you have a dual lantern post with 2 sets of control gear in the base, just no room to get at it without dropping the cuttout and backing plate out...

    High Electricity Bill Source

If you are clamping line and neutral your are only measuring earth leakage current. Current draw for a standard 2.2kw kettle should be higher than 0.56A.

To corded or not to Corded

I would start first and see what the job is like, you'll soon get a feel for what you need. I certainly wouldn't be spending large sums of money on 240v corded gear.
