    As I said the neutral was broken prior to the join, therefore it did not show up, someone put the join in to use the earth as a neutral!

    Yes, at the fuseboard, and that showed no issues as the neutral was not connected to the point where the earth link was - I would of only of found it if I I/R was done at the upstairs lights, which means I would be I/R ing at every light fitting during a test to find that sort of thing.

    Did an EICR of a rented property, 2 up 2 down, old, one lighting circuit, cooker, ring and 2 radials (2 sockets in kitchenon one, hall socket on other).     After fitting out an office with LED panels the staff were oo-ah ing over how much better the new lights were, I was extoling the better light quality, cheaper to run etc. Unfortunately I have a terrible sense of humour and went on to say that there is no evidence for them not causing cancer....

    Now I was told that they had to be fire rated if there was sleeping areas on the floor(s) above, so in a average house fire retardent on the ground floor, don't matter on the top floor. (also why does the NICEIC test sheet have this as a thing to be checked then)

    There should be no direct contact, but when wiring boilers sometimes close proximity can not be helped.

    If its a card reader there will be another box ox tricks somewhere that you may of switched off, or cleared its memory. Could be a little box with a keypad, could be an ethernet connection to a pc, but there will be a way of programming the cards somewhere, which I have seen hooked into the...

    From the picture I was shown unit is pre-wired so I can take the wires into an adaptable box and make them off there. (Well, one of the others can, I'm not going!)

    It is tight up to the roof with a meter or so overhang mostly, should avoid direct sunlight and water mostly, but it is on a exposed pier like structure
