    TT earthing enquiry.

I'm afraid this is another one where despite very sound and safety critical advice the OP seems hell-bent on disregarding everything to avoid an RCD , potentially lethal. We might as well give up on this one...

UK Where to measure Ze, opinions welcome!

I'd say ideally it should be recorded right at the origin of the supply in the building as there's a separate part on Schedules of test results for 'zDB'. But if there isn't a main isolator at the intake it wouldn't be practical with no access to line conductors without removing a DNO fuse... On...

different make SPD in consumer unit

Hmm I've heard this is quite common in your area of Cornwall. :)

    I.R. testing existing circuits

We did a follow up on an EICR including a CU change where a landlord 'didn't like the attitude' of the previous Electrician. It was an unsatisfactory report and the only RFC for the house had a tested IR of 0.28 Megohms across L-E which he'd given a 'FI' code to. There was also a C2 for one...

Wiring a bungalow..... from above or below?

I think I'd be inclined to run the new socket cables under the floor to save on a lot of chasing.

    Consumer Unit Query?

I'd very much like to see what that's like inside, even the way the labelling is applied says quite a lot....

Omission of overcurrent at origin of installation?

In years gone by many of us would feed an additional small CU [say for a shower or outbuilding for example] with 6mm tails, often directly connected in with the existing 16mm tails in the existing CU main switch [a fiddly thing to achieve sometimes :) ]. This was considered perfectly ok but we...

Can I confirm how to test for and how to find a borrowed neutral?

There's really no need for that attitude - particularly towards such a highly respected member with more knowledge than you could ever get close to.

Can I confirm how to test for and how to find a borrowed neutral?

Equally it could be a bodge by 'Mr Know All' the homeowner/ resident dinosaur, but he'll never admit to it...

Can I confirm how to test for and how to find a borrowed neutral?

With the two circuit CPCs separated [removed from the earth bar] do you still have the very low reading between the neutrals ?

How has 2022 been so far? How's the economy affecting you? Any tips?

That's exactly the one we always use, excellent bit of kit - although some customers opt for the unit without the heater. In all honesty the relatively gentle air input wouldn't unduly lower the temperature within the house in my view, and you can wire these straight off the nearest suitable...

How has 2022 been so far? How's the economy affecting you? Any tips?

We install a fair amount of PIV units and the changes they make are remarkable. Often by the very next day customers report no condensation on the inside of their windows, one of the very best benefit vs cost things you can do for a home I'd say. But of course you do need fresh air circulating...

It all depends on the age of the install, which we don't yet know.

It would have been pre colour changes I expect from a 3 phase db with blue being the phase colour supplying that particular circuit.
