    BG Nexus flush sockets

I've found these awkward too, they seem to take up every mm around the edge of the box, a proper PITA !

What is your hourly rate as a self employed electrician?

Exactly that ! And no additional containers.

What is your hourly rate as a self employed electrician?

From what I can make out it isn't really happening in other parts of the country at the moment but here in Cornwall a lot of people [idiots] seem to be panic buying fuel including filling extra cans ! And in places queues spill out onto roads holding up traffic, and some fuel stations close due...

Good Old Delroy, he gets all the best Jobs :)

Reasonable - but stretching it out on the spacings of the SWA cleats. 🙂

UK Is a standard Pendant a Class 2 fitting?

The vast majority of BC lampholders don't have any additional safety features , I think Crabtree did/still do one.

UK Is a standard Pendant a Class 2 fitting?

I'd say that the earth terminal within an insulated pendant base is purely there as either a parking or loop terminal depending on the wiring method and serves no other purpose with regard to the fitting. So in a situation where the lighting cable has no cpc and rewiring just isn't an option at...

    Bathroom zones and ip ratings

Fair enough Brian, we all have our own views on this one.

    Bathroom zones and ip ratings

Although it's permissible outside of the zones I prefer to put wall switches outside the bath or shower room, just doesn't feel right as moisture and steam take no notice of BS7671 zones.

    I'm totally baffled !!??

Are Danson consumer units and RCBO's ok?

I haven't yet heard of them and they may well be fine. But I'll probably stick with Fusebox as they seem very good quality for the money and I haven't had any problems at all. As we all know you get what you pay for. 🙂

2 rcbo tripping. 2 rcbo tripping

My first thoughts are mixed up neutrals on the RCBO outgoing terminals or somewhere in the wiring the two circuits have linked neutrals.

Should these tails be mechanically protected?

Assuming the meter box is outside where the tails exit through the garage wall couldn't you reroute them outside and in again enclosed in a suitable conduit - possibly waste pipe ?

Anyone ever had a L to N fault in a brand new socket

First time I've heard of that one, most unusual ! And the last thing you'd expect too. Well done for finding it !

    UK Fault with ring main

Well there's only 1 lighting circuit as well , and the ground floor hall light comes on with the landing light, that only has the usual loops and 1 switch wire. So I reckon the linking was a more recent thing and the bottom light has the switched live tapped off the L2 of the three core from the...

    UK Fault with ring main

I've had this very problem just recently, only found it when fitting an RCBO board and both the lighting and [sole] ring RCBOs tripped everytime the downstairs hall light was switched on..... Can't access the borrowed neutral so had to come up with a temporary solution until boards can be...
