Mmm, I have read through the comments and understand both sides.
Oscar does have some valid points, its very different from when I started as a 15 year old kid in late 70s.
IMO age is irrelevant I loved and enjoyed the job money was rubbish but knew was gaining knowledge and learning a trade...
The price does vary for the 2A inserter, just had a look they all look the same but the prices are variable, I would say buy one in the mid range price. CK do one for £22 and the lowest price was £3ish.
I still have my BT one but they all look the same so as for quality cant advise.
Dont quite understand your question, but you just need to regland them back into the new board with lock nut or lock ring, could even use coupler and bush as well.
That diagram is the most practical way using 3core and earth between all switches and the most common way in domestic.
Admit it does not give the whole circuit diagram, just the actual wiring between all switches with 3 core and earth, I am only trying to help the OP with his question too.
