So do you have a dedicated off peak consumer unit and a 24 hour consumer unit , another question is the hw element long top entry. Just to add the whole supply goes over to off peak so you could switch the circuit over to 24 HR supply and have it on a time clock that way you could top up if need be.
He done well pulling them singles through back to the board.
Flexi conduit to new socket position very good in the circumstances. I hate conduit alterations, with the new conlok couplers could of carried on in steel conduit to new socket.
You could run a three core&earth from the nearest two way position make that your intermediate then what was the common wire join it up in the back of the box with the spare core in a connector/wago and at the new switch end strappers in L1 L2 common in common.
does not help the circuits in one...
In the 80's I was taught that with PME earthing arrangements we used 16mm for the main earthing conductor, some went a bit crazy and were bonding gas, water, even cross bonding with 16mm.
Before the birth of rcbo's it was standard practice to fit an upfront 100ma S type RCD on a TT earthing arrangement. I still would old habits die hard as they say.
As electricians we dont have the authority to disconnect circuits without client's permission, BUT we can turn off mcbs, switch gear etc.
The OP has covered himself. I would of turned the breaker off (photo taken) before I left they have been told plus in writing its their call to switch back on.
Yeah this situation is a problem, take most of these sub mains are being fed via 60A switch fuse.
BTW I was told off for using the (old) term sub mains on here, its called distribution circuit. lol (still cant get used to this new terminology)
