    I used to install & main traffic signals.. Had a good call out once... control box making a whining noise, somehow there was a dog trapped inside!!

    Just thinking that depending on use the hot tub will be power hungry.. Got a mate who installed a hot tub and his bill went up by 500/qtr.. I suggested he installed a hot water feed and blended it to the right temperature.. Leccy bill gone down, gas bill up but still saving lots... Got another...

    The meter boxes have knockouts in the bottom that can be reinstated later on.. I would come out of the bottom in trunking and then go bottom entry into an enclosure with the isolator inside. We’re supposed to use designated entry points in the meter boxes

    New rules came in a few years ago for travel time, working hours and whether you have fixed place of work.. Bit of a mine field really, don’t think it’s being enforced, everyone I’ve spoke to aren’t even aware of the newis ruling.

    In this situation I email or phone the dno and submit a form to request upgrade.. I am in a lucky position though as over here in the iom we only have 1 dno and I’m on 1st name terms with all their staff who have a great rapport with the electrical trade..
