    Eddy current clarification

I thought any conductive material in a moving magnetic field will induce a voltage. Magnetic flux is a thing but it's the moving flux or conductor moving though a magnetic field that induces a voltage. I was also taught that below 100 amp current is unlikely to be a concern. Having said that I...

would not a brazed up slot still count as a shorted turn of a transformer os sorts?

EICR in Flat - cross-connected circuits, T&E tails, composite earth

    1. interconnected circuits would be a C2 mainly as there is not a direct connection ,so some type of fault ,21 ohms sounds like a circuit or load, about 11 amps could flow though that. 2. operational limitation or come back after midnight (dead test only otherwise) 3.its a sub main after an 80...

What are you trying to achieve?

What's the best Voltage for a Drain Camera electric?

I'm wondering what you mean converted to electric? What do they run on now?

    Daylight saving time

I hope it is scrapped what a waste of time (pun intended) , figuring out what timers/clocks need adjusting ,the only benefit I ever got from it was an extra hour in the nightclub

    Armoured wire for 24V system

At 240 volts a 10v drop won't be much of an issue at 24v it's a big deal, you would have to work out the minimum accepted voltage at full current and use ohms law to work out the best size of cable

    operational limitation on EIC

after changing a consumer unit I have a high level flood light and photocell that can’t be reached. on the EICR I can LIM these due to height . the photocell is a NEMA plastic double insulated type the floodlight however is a SON-T and I suspect its a metal case !

    EICR - Garden Lighting RCD

I would C2 this, cable is not suitable for the environment its installed in, we would C2 a socket for equipment likely to be used outside , cable is not buried at a sufficient depth to avoid damage.does the cable contain carbon black to prevent UV damage ?,maybe even cable not supported correctly .

    RCCB Breaker Tripping?

I think over there you would call it a gfci which we call an (RCD) Residual Current Device or RCCB, an RCBO here is an (RCD) Residual Current Device with an mcb in one unit

What type of connector is this?

It looks like a car connector I replaced one to my crankshaft sensor on my focus looked similar to that

UK RCD sockets on RCBO protected circuit

I actually had it happen after an mcb was upgraded to rcbo, this had a srcd socket that caused that to happen when I pressed the test button

    Thoughts on this EICR?

Seems to be picky about the wrong things, I'm sure there is no reg that mandates ordered terminals, but as above many of the others are C2 in my opinion, the C2 for fire rated lights is probably not either

UK RCD sockets on RCBO protected circuit

It's not unsafe but I have had it where pushing the test button has tripped the rcbo, you also don't achieve selectivity

    Grounding a DIY aquarium light

Not many people could feel 24 volts, check the obvious like no stray wires touching the casing,if you have a meter check ac and dc voltage between case and a true earth

Is the main fuse big enough?

You can hire these things, failing that clamp meter round a tail ideally when the weather is hot and all loads are at an expected maximum Level

    Grounding a DIY aquarium light

What voltage is the transformer? If you are getting a perceived electric shock there must be a power supply fault if its extra low voltage, earthing the case may help or it may just finish off the power supply,.

    selectivity 60898 b6 to same

I have changed the supply to a 16 amp mcb , my ZS at the bin store light is 1.29 ohms ,fault current of 186 amps. my read of the time current curves is that the local 6 amp will trip possibly the 16 amp as well ,so I may not have achieved much at all!
