    selectivity 60898 b6 to same

It's a remote bin store fed from the flats communal area,it is in a locked cupboard but it's only a fb key which all the tenants and contractors should have

    selectivity 60898 b6 to same

the time current curves don’t appear to say , also I guess they will only be selective for over currents , at a fault current of 228 amps there cant be any selectivity Eaton seem to suggest?

    selectivity 60898 b6 to same

I have a small Consumer Unit fed from a 6 amp type B mcb to a 6 amp type B,it only feeds 1 light in a bin store . clearly we have no selectivity here ,would changing the feed mcb to a type C possibly 10 amp help achieve this? its only on 1.5 swa so I can’t go too high ,my ZDB is 1.05 ohms

    Running lights across scaffolding

I have always wondered if there Is a need to consider scaffold an extraneous conductive part once lighting and security devices get Installed on it

After a New Consumer Unit, now I need EICR & 100A DP Isolation Switch

I guess your mean a s type (RCD) Residual Current Device in a tt system, otherwise there in no selectivity and little point in having rcbos,I have never had an rcbo fail only the rcds seem to fail for some strange reason

Where to get spare megger probes?

I have just purchased the wago test probes and cut the outer plastic about 10mm back to allow the hump on megger leads

Getting a shock in a shower.

While it’s true we don’t own the installation electricity at work regulations and h&saw say we are guilty of an offence for any dangerous situations left ,and we have to use the get out clause regulation 29 I think 28 If no danger arises from a particular system, item of electrical equipment or...

    Central locking fault

I think that would come under "taking without owners consent" also you need to be insured to drive other vehicles where consent is also needed,.

    18th edition revision

As above use the contents and indexes, they usually go in order so start of the exam maybe scope and definitions and towards the end special locations and prosumers. I always answer those I know for sure and flag the ones I need to look up

UK Change RCD type at CU to enable RCDs at socket outlets

those old mk rcds are very fast the figure you have quoted is the maximum allowed not the typical times,I have seen mk ones trip at 9 ms , the only real way to achieve any zoned trips are with rcbos . you can’t really have an (RCD) Residual Current Device socket for each appliance unless the...

Struggling with Calculating Energy Usage on 3ph

If your running all single phase loads then your approach would seem to be correct. is there not 3 phase meter to verify your calculations?

    Adjusting tripping time.

I suppose you could have some type of reverse selectivity / discrimination by running it in over size cable and ocpd bigger than the supply , but the internal wiring would not be protected by say a 50amp mcb and the time current curves would still overlap. it also would not pass a fire risk...

UK Static Type Shock Kitchen Water

The sink is probably not an extraneous conductive part and probably does not require bonding to the met ,your electrician should have done an ir test on this to the met, he also should have checked ZE to determine the quality of the the main earth. do you have (RCD) Residual Current Device in...
