Could you not add a fused spur to provide protection for the spur?
An mcb will always trip faster than an rcd in the magnetic(instant) part of the curve.
Its all about the let though energy ,how much current is flowing thought the cable an the time its flowing, this is what heats the cable and...
what do you mean by leaking?
a voltage is a potential difference between 2 or more points ,presence of a voltage ac or dc means little ,its the current that flows or could flow thats important.
its usually a capacitor or other component for emi that causes these things , if from a reputable...
the warranty does not matter , the consumer rights act 2015 is the law .
there may be parts that may freeze up or the defrost heater may not be working for some reason, best to try the advice given .
your contract is with the supplier not the manufacturer
are there more than 1 items of conductive parts that you want to prevent from different potentials ?this is what supplimentary bonding is usually for in my experience , whether it needs main equipotential bonding is another mattter, you have said it was a dead short but also stated its over 999...
I take it you measured with the bonding disconnected?
There are a few other ways a pipe can be connected though to earth ,via boiler or cylinder CPC ,or via a gas bond if there is one.
Try a low ohm test to give you a clue .
If with all parallel paths disconnected it's less the was 23 K ohms I...
One of our contractors has identified a concern with multiple showers on a single 100 amp supply.(unsure how many yet i have asked for further infomation)
They have asked our company for a solution (which means me!).
Other than getting a 3 phase supply in the only other way is a shower priority...
schneider have confirmed they dont make the door /lid i require . NICEIC have said to contact the original installer who is a NICEIC AC .
its in a walk in cupboard with plasterboard walls and a door to the left of the Consumer Unit ,the manufacturer also said i cant drill out the door hinge...
its not due a test until november 2024 , but in one of our block of flats ,a schneider 24 way db has been installed on the right hand side of a tight cupboard.
the door is hinged on the left.
schneider dont make a right hinged door.
im mostly out of ideas other than getting the original...
earth clamp on armoured? i would hope we are not talking about a BS951 earth clamp . as everyone says you have either a bad cable or bad connections .sometimes a thermal camera can help if you load the cable with an electric heater .
I squared R losses would make for some heat under load.
check...
you may want to change if maximum ZS does not comply or if you require a faster disconnect time, 80% values for a D16 is only 0.54 ohms. i would say its good practise to design circuits to trip on the mcb portion (if possible) then the (RCD) Residual Current Device part is just for additional...
Depends if it an extraneous conductive part, measure ir from pipe to met, I use 23K ohms as allowing 10 ma of fault current to flow.
GN8 gives more information about this and other values that you could use.
take all the neutrals out of all the neural bars (mark them first) puts wagos on each one and power up the offending circuit, any neutrals connected though a load will now become live, i use this technique to upgrade mcbs to rcbos
Just get a Henley block the neutral current will always be less than 100 amps, most 3 phase supplies only have 1 neutral.
Think of a 3 phase motor which may need no neutral as all 3 phases are balanced
