Please make sure the circuit is safe before attempting to turn back on the breaker. Leaving exposed conductors is very dangerous!!
As already been stated, any faults will require rectifying before the circuit breaker will reset.
I'm an idealist, though this is never achievable and does often frustrate me. As you say everyone has their own view on fairness.
Governments aren't about fair they are about money, always have been always will be. What ever the decision made on electric vehicles or any other major enterprise...
Yeah this is one that always bugs me, go out and buy a low emissions car @ £0 road tax, and do 15,000 miles a year. Buy a performance car and do 1500 miles a year @ £450 road tax. Its the government's way of making more cash and using "carbon reduction incentive" as a smoke screen.
Yes I know...
I guess the obvious solution is to just have a s**t load of charging points at every available opportunity.
Either way, some fat cat will find a way to exploit it, and make a load of dosh. I suspect supermarkets and similar venues, will have pay and play points at every parking space, where...
I just don't see how electric vehicles for the general masses will ever be possible. It would be interesting to see the cars in my mothers terraced street all trying to plug in for charging ?
Not my parent, but a life lesson that serves me well.
As an apprentice my first boss was my father's best mate, he was a little guy who wore glasses he smoked a pipe constantly and was often referred to as "popeye"
As a young man I resented him, I was bitter towards him and believed he was...
I worked with a fella who would happily hold onto the ends of the leads and receive the 1000v test, It didn't seem to bother him in the slightest. I asked him what he felt, he just said it was a bit tingly and warm feeling.
That's ok, we will all be going around in boats by then, when the sea level rises, so no need for tyres. Though the salty water may still present a problem for the tin boats ?
Sometimes its not just the cost, but also what you can offer over others, it can be difficult to win a tender when you are up against experienced companies that already have their foot in the door. Going in too cheap is not always a guarantee either. In fact it can sometimes have a negative...
No code,
However, this could be the sort of situation where the client/home owner could be scared or concerned into thinking the installation is unsafe. They see a cable protruding that they think should be buried and may automatically think it's unsafe.
I might be inclined to perhaps make a...
The crux of this lies in whether its acceptable to spur from the supply source of the final circuit to extend the circuit.
Consider this, would it be acceptable to spur off the circuit cable inside the CU using an appropriate junction connection?
If I was still in the trade of fitting kitchens and bathrooms I'd travel down and do you this myself. Assuming it's as straightforward as 2 days for a tradesman and his mate, then I'd be charging around £900 - £1100 labour only, and including travel & one night stop over.
The world has gone mad with all this diversion, inclusion and discrimination b*****ks. Its just another good excuse for the lawyers to get even richer.
Anyhow back to the thread, another simple good tip that serves well - measure twice cut once! I'm overseeing a large project and we have had...
I'm surprised the discrimination police haven't jumped all over this with pink Hetty's and red Henry's. I sat on a training course the other day for diversity, discrimination and inclusion. Apparently I'm no longer allowed to compliment a person on their appearance.
So next time my missus puts...
Depends on the situation, I witnessed a colleague drop a motor gearbox assembly on his foot. The toe cap saved him from a very serious injury.
I always wear them though, I do make sure they are a decent comfortable shoe. Nowt worse than a shoe that doesn't fit nice!
I suffer from a generic disorder that was passed down to me from my mother. I have excessively short tendons, which means I'm unable to straighten any joint out fully and limits my flexibility. I went to yoga classes for years in an attempt to stretch them out some. The yoga teacher, after...
Technically I'd agree, but the interesting bit about this particular application is that the shower cubicle has a partition wall where the arc of the zone is located. For zone 2 this would make sense as a person could reach around. But on appearance this partion (which I assume is floor to wall)...
