    Meter tail grommets

Ah right. I've only ever used the ones with all the entries on one side of the block

    Meter tail grommets

I've never felt the need to improve the IP rating of a Henley block. Am I missing out on something ?

Advice on best method to run a cable for power in Garden

Don't drill those concrete posts. They can easily shatter. Even if they don't the hole you drilled can let in water which can lead to shattering.

    UK Sub board

Your profile states NVQ3 qualified but your posts indicate that you have the electrical knowhow of a spam butty. Something's not right here. But what I can say is the advice given about getting in someone who knows what they are doing should be followed and that no forum member should be...

Drilled through kitchen light cable repaired with crimps now none of my lights work up or downstairs

Many alarm bells are ringing at that description of faults/remedies. Please ensure you get a few opinions/quotes before you engage someone to rewire your house as it does not sound right at all. In fact it sounds like you have either completely misunderstood what was said to you or you are being...

Does anyone still use connector block..?

I was thinking of most HF fluorescent fittings I've ever used, both linear and 2D type. Possibly not wago branded but certainly of that type.

Does anyone still use connector block..?

Yes. Push the button down, insert conductor, release button to secure conductor. Other side is push fit for the internal wiring of the fitting.

Exposed wire on shower isolator switch

You shouldn't be pushing the basic insulation though the enclosure. Yes that needs repairing. If there is enough length you could crop the conductor at the damaged point and re terminate. That would address the issue of the exposed copper at the terminals too.

    Plug socket

Possibly. Your electrician should be able to perform tests to prove viability and safety if you want to convert it.

Does anyone still use connector block..?

That type of connector has been in light fittings I have used for at least the last 15 years, unless I'm missing something.

Does anyone still use connector block..?

I can't recall the last time I bought any. Certainly not in the last 7 or so years.

    C&G 4141-01 tradeskills4U 5 days course

I don't think you'll find it with another trainer. IIRC this course was developed for this training provider by city and guilds.

    C&G 4141-01 tradeskills4U 5 days course

Well it says on their website it is aimed at people with little to no experience. I think the course is aimed at getting potential candidates for more expensive courses to pay for their own grooming. Not sure if it would cater for your needs.

MK consumer units going out of business?

Yes they announced their withdrawal from the consumer unit market a while back. Plenty of other cheap low quality brands about though.

    Best online tool supplier

FFX and powertoolmate are my go to online tool suppliers at the moment. I too try to avoid Amazon and any other multinational companies that don't like to pay UK tax.

Calibration - What actually goes on?

Yes MFT calibration is usually just this. Bit of a misnomer. Adjustment of the meter is usually extra if needed.

    Notching timbers instead of drilling....

I never notch unless I have to. Personally my battery combi and self feed drill bits fly through joists in seconds. Notching would take much longer and wiring would require more daffy dressing with notches. If I had a huuuuuge rewire to do I'd treat myself to something like the Milwaukee hole...
