    Penny pinching

Worked above suspended ceilings plenty of times with basket and tray. It's a pain alright. Sometimes impossible if the proper ceiling is too high.

    Hole saw advice

I just make sure to give the Arbor a good shove through the Dade collar when tightening the chuck. It doesn't come loose.

    New Hammer

Ah yeah forgot about those and have seen a couple of mishaps with them. 1590532864 I have an E16s which I got as an alternative to the Wiha.

    New Hammer

I have one and they are great. I also have a £5 fibreglass one and that does the job just fine. But I do love nice tools. If you're an apprentice I'd go cheap and cheerful. Save the Wiha and estwing for later. Estwings are very desirable shiny things for those with sticky fingers on site.

    New Hammer

You do know the Wiha one is £30 for a 10 oz toffee smasher ? You could get a hickory handle estwing for cheaper or a leather handle estwing for a couple of quid more

    New Hammer

The Wiha/hultafors one is very light and expensive. I'd go estwing if you want something quality and a little fancy.

    Which downlights do you use?

I think most manufacturers do switchable colour temp versions now. I don't really see much call for them myself as I discuss light colour with the customer before ordering. Very handy to keep one on the van on a plug top as a sample for illustrating light colour temps. The brand I use, KSR...

    Keeping the body fit

I use blaklader foam ones only because I bought them with my blaklader trousers. They have held up well for years but I've heard good things about the snickers floorlayer ones

UK Can I use a Xiaomi Chinese rice cooker in the UK?

You could give your local Chinese food wholesaler/supermarket a call. They often stock rice cookers for use in UK sockets.

    Bounce back business loans

Thanks I'll give all the info a read before pestering my bank. As you say you could pay yourself wages into a buffer account and then stock your koi pond with ill tempered mutated sea bass as you see fit.

    Bounce back business loans

Will they be checking though, and if so, how ?

    Keeping the body fit

Practice prevention of damage from early on to limit health problems in the future. Use all the PPE you should, don't skimp on decent knee pads and always use them, practice safe lifting procedure, let a power tool take the strain instead of you etc. It DOES make a difference. I personally...

    Noise from fuse box

I've you've been messing about and now there's strange noises then you should definitely do no more and call someone in. Bad wires indeed.

What have you done or learnt during lockdown

They are existing tops in a kitchen which will get completely replaced within 5 years so I'm not too fussed about them being pristine all the time. Just need to get rid of stains and replace the finish to make them serviceable. Been looking at hard wax oils which apparently don't need as much...

What have you done or learnt during lockdown

I have a plasterer who has supplies in hand. I'd rather keep the tops in situ but can remove the sink and hob to make it easier.

What have you done or learnt during lockdown

Cracked on with refurbishing our new family home. We took possession 10 days before lockdown and managed to get a new boiler installed before that. Since then I've been plodding on with a full rewire and stripping it out ready for a full skimming. Can't really do everything I want to before more...

    Talk about taking the P***

I'll just keep it included in my quotes. It's not like I'm offering it as optional so no reason to quote it separately.
