Typically do employers take on people who do the short course, 6 months but level 3 C&G qualified in electrics

The NVQ3 is to be done in employment as it is a record of experience in practical tasks.

Typically do employers take on people who do the short course, 6 months but level 3 C&G qualified in electrics

Would the 6 month course give you 6 months work experience or 6 months in a classroom ? What employers are generally looking for are electricians graded to JIB standards or with equivalent qualifications. This is to NVQ3 level. They also look for site experience and the ability to do the job...

Buying A Consumer Unit For An Electrician?

When selling a house an indemnity policy that covers lack of BC notification is cheaper than getting it done properly in the first place. You're right. Nonsense.

    Aico smoke detector wiring

I'd evacuate pretty quickly if a lion was "going off" in fault mode in the property. Firstly my bowels, then the building.

    Screwdriver addict...

Yeah Wiha have been my daily use drivers for a good few years now. Very comfortable and I've only ever broken them through misuse.

Yes. But don't have three there.

    Suitable MCB for Radial Circuit?

True. It's all in the regs too though.

    Suitable MCB for Radial Circuit?

Proper circuit design should be applied to all circuits. If you are looking in the OSG at standard radial circuits it is made clear in that section that the stated cable sizes are minimum sizes and that calculation is necessary to design the circuit properly. I'd pretty much ignore the OSG if...

    Terminating SWA into Hager CU

Mostly so I can butt up a 50x100 trunking above or below for final circuit entry. Tails can go up or down through the designated rectangle with a purpose made grommet. They are then secured inside the unit with the tails clamp. I hardly ever use SWA to supply domestic boards.

    Terminating SWA into Hager CU

Is it only me that favours the rectangular knockouts then ?

Hager split load board - 1 RCD tripping but not the other.

Where you've gone wrong is not performing any testing. Have you considered mixed conductors on the lighting circuits ? It won't be the RCD At fault. Hager are the most reliable brand I know. You could try changing the RCD over but I think that will be fruitless. It won't be tripping because of...

EICR Code for working RCD with non-functioning test button

Was the test button function tested with outgoing circuits disconnected ? I've had connected N-E faults stop the test button working before.

    Quickwire T-Connector Plug & Socket

Might have been useful ten years ago but most decent downlights come prepared with connectors for two twin and earth cables these days.

    UK Pricing

Just ignore the customer. Nothing wrong with your price apart from being too cheap. I'd be about £1600 for the work detailed.

How is everyone doing for work?

It's a messed up situation mate, but you do right putting yourself and your health first. So many have been plodding on regardless. The definition of lunacy.

How is everyone doing for work?

If they are offering those rates they won't care.

How is everyone doing for work?

Absolutely awful mate. I hope you expressed your extreme dismay toward the employer regarding those rates.

How is everyone doing for work?

What as ? A labourer ? In fact I think my mate, a bricky, pays his labourer more than that.

How is everyone doing for work?

Self employed doing mainly private domestic work. Most domestic customers have a few grand in the back pocket from not going away this year so seem to be spending on doing things at home. I think hot tub salesmen will all have new cars this year.
