Thanks Dave. The DB is isolated. If DNO has proved supply is good to to main switch of our board though. How can anything on consumer side be causing 330v or burning out of appliances. Loose/disconnected neutrals on actual circuits won't do this will they? Surely.

Pete...
The DB is isolated Snowhead they haven't moved in yet. The DNO said there is no supply issues they tested upto supply side of main switch so is 230v there between L and N so not lost Neutral atleast not entirely.
Had a call today. Property has 400v 3 phase DB....it used to be old commercial unit but changed to residential. He's been in process of moving in but within day or two appliances starting to burn out. He's father had reported testing some sockets and voltages varied at times when other...
Thanks Westward that makes a lot of sense. If you was in my shoes what do you think your next call would be.....I've proved 230v on both sw line and permanent so to me this proves relay and wiring to unit is all ok. Thing bit surprised of though is indicator light on unit is coming on bit still...
He didn't mention any other bathrooms and didn't look like there was any other joins in ducting. How would this potentially affect it though westward? If I am getting 230v from one of the bathrooms and unit is still not kicking on?
DPG the wiring was a bit of a mess mate as you can see from photo and that was only one side of it. I have to hold my hands up I found it difficult to suss out what was going on with it. Had limited time this morning to investigate fully. What is the purpose of the relay? And if I have proved...
Hi all
Went a job this morning to check out vent axia Gemini twin fan...the ducting type that sits in loft and takes air from loft and vents it into bathroom as far as I can tell by piping this is all that it does. I tested upto unit on both switch side from light and the permanent supply both...
I think weight of fitting will be to much for box won't it

I can't little it's a garden wall. I can't see any practical option other than to tell her to get a different fitting
Hi chaps
How would you best mount or connect into this light? It seems like it would be back entry but my cables would be coming from conduit or armoured from side. I know it's a pretty stupid question but what is neatest method
It would of been if installed yes. The potential for overloaded cables are then the ones on the ring then which could be drawing 39amps? Just for my own clarity the fact that it is a ring and wired in 2.5mm parrellel does this have any bearing on what max amperage the ring is capable of drawing...
I think you might of understood me correct Andy and my calculations are not right. At moment it goes ring main, then goes to spurred off socket. Then thinking I might of been able to from here to 13amp spur then to double socket. Would this then possibly give a 39Amp load from socket on the ring?
Have 18th ed and page 505 does say an unfused spur should feed one twin socket outlet. However if a 13amp fused spur is then connected to this and then to another socket is this not permissible? I can't see any potential for cable overloading? Thanks
I find the easy certs really pretty decent Midwest can either do on phone or tablet and export straight to laptop for easy email to customer avout 65 quid a year I think
Afternoon all
I'm a new member to NIC and I need to notify 2 jobs done this week. A DB change and a minor works for bathroom extractor installed. I use easy cert software which generates own cert numbers. When going to NIC site to notify is asking for relevant certificate number and says enter...
Thanks Robson looks like that might be more sensible option if indeed links with rest of his home Google set up. I'll suggest it to him. Had quite a fancy gaff though and think he was hoping wouldn't have to continually recharge speaker
I posted yesterday to try to confirm my understanding of regs. I would appreciate it if you could point out where what I have described would not be in compliance. Device would be fixed and supplied at low voltage (5v) and safety source (transformer) would be outside zone 2
