UK New consumer unit required for updated kitchen

There are 3 spare ways available with a bit of re jigging. You wouldn't add a new circuit to any cu that wasn't fire retardant?

UK New consumer unit required for updated kitchen

2 rcbos plus a busbar, around £60, new fuseboard installed, testing etc not really comparable price wise

UK New consumer unit required for updated kitchen

There is space in your current unit, even if it means buying a new bit of busbar and a couple of rcbo's

EV chargers and double pole RCD's.

cheers, yes i agree with what you are saying, and an RCD is required for the cable/route. The issue is a Scolmore Elucian board has been fitted and their RCBO's are single pole. Which seems massively shortsighted. (both from a manufacturing point of view, and a installation design point of view)

EV chargers and double pole RCD's.

So regulation 722.531.3.1 says RCD's shall disconnect all live conductors. Is this requirement met if the charger itself contains a DP RCD? As presumably there is no reason that the installed circuit requires a DP RCD? in fact depending on cable type and install methods the cable may not need...

Bonding to gas, eagle eyed gas man!

Hi, went to have a look at a job today, customer has had gas supply company out (for another issue) and they have commented that the protective bonding conductor is the the wrong place and needs to be altered. So gas meter is internal to property, on consumer side, about 200mm of pipework...

Can someone clarify this please...Part Pee

What a ridiculous, but probably all too common scenario. Builders, plumbers, kitchen fitters, handymen etc, happy to do unregulated, uninsured and unsafe work. Customers (the general public) are grossly uninformed about what should (and who should) be doing this work.

Unless all the other videos you've watched are delroy...😁

Pricing for a job need help

If indeed any of this is remotely true (it can't be. How can anyone live on 8k per year unless you are still at home.woth your parents maybe?) I'm not sure that someone who is in the trade but doesn't know what notifiable work is, or has no grasp of building regulations, is worth more than £15...
