Good Old Delroy, he gets all the best Jobs :)

You have to meet disconnection times... we all know on a TT most often the way to achieve this will be with a RCD. I guess the point @westward10 was making (playing devil's advocate I think) was that the regs don't explicitly say "you must use an RCD" ...

Good Old Delroy, he gets all the best Jobs :)

Bundy seems nice, in terms of his online content (which is all I can comment on), it's pretty boring. He seems to be doing well for himself though

Alot of people didn't did they?

Still, it is what it is, just an online video, we re not obliged to watch it, although it is up there for comment and debate I guess

Good Old Delroy, he gets all the best Jobs :)

I watched up to 12 mins but couldn't take any more.... its painful... still discussing what 'should' means... you would have thought if you were going to make a video discussing a regulation, it might be handy to actually have the regs to hand, so you can at least quote it accurately. Unless...

Good Old Delroy, he gets all the best Jobs :)

I know the language used in bs7671 isn't known for being clear and straightforward.... but the first 3 or 4 mins of this really help clear things up...

Are further qualifications required to install an EV charger?

    ... there's always one......!

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

I think it's still a requirement to ensure they dont trip at 50%

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

Come on then @Josh555 ... you got some grief over the weekend, have you been back to sort this yet? What was it?

Handy notes to keep in phone

No requirement for the x5 test now. What was the theory behind the x5 test anyway? paraphrase "RCD'S used for additional protection are deemed to have been verified where an RCD disconnects at rated residual operating current (30ms) 300ms maximum" For non delay types

Handy notes to keep in phone

Nice one! Check the changes to rcd testing as a result of ammendment 2. Keep up the good work!

Handy notes to keep in phone

How your boss likes his tea...😉 That's a good idea though Maybe some max disconnection times... a few key bs numbers (61008, 61009 etcetc) bathroom zones, rcd trip times...

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

I said don't get offensive. Asking you about your experience and knowledge of testing is about as relevant as it gets. Have you disconnected your new cables from the old sockets and now everything is fine? Either your new sockets are faulty (unlikely), or you've made a mistake. Aside from...

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

Dude, don't get offensive, you've attempted to undertake a fairly basic task, somehow created a fireworks show. Don't be surprised if you get asked "basic" questions.

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

Right, to clarify: -You spurred off 2 sockets to add in 2 additional sockets -Assume they were OK when you left? -Now the sockets you spurred from are 'sparking' and "blowing", (still don't know what you mean by this) -The rcd is tripping - but the new sockets are still live? There's no way the...

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

Going back to your original question, "any idea as to why this is happening " I'd suggest it is because you are vastly underqualified/experienced to be carrying out this work. The fact you called the customer a client suggests you are being employed to carry out this work which you probably...

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

I still dont know what you mean. But anyway, if the RCD tripped the other sockets def were not still live. Did you do any testing?

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

The wind blows. You mean the mcb tripped off? If that happened there's no way the new sockets could be still live
