What do you mean? He clearly told the customer which socket to use for power tools!!😆

Good Old Delroy, he gets all the best Jobs :)

I wonder if him waffling on is edited down... Also, did he leave all the old circuits connected? I thought the whole point was the customer wanted to strip all the existing wiring out?! Surely there should be a note left telling the customer which socket to use if he wants to use is power...

Just when you thought that it had finally dawned on him an r1 r2 test might be a good idea.... no the test probes come out.....

    Danfoss flatstation info

Hi all, hoping someone may have some info that can help. I've had an enquiry from a customer who is having some issues with the heat pump running continuously in a danfoss flatstation. I don't know anything about these units, do they use external zone valves or is all that done internally to the...

Unfortunately, rightly or wrongly, if your putting your stuff up for public viewing, it's going to attract critique. I think I'm some cases it's constructive and justified, in others not. I've learnt from the "youtube sparks", both what to do and what not to do. Ps im.not jealous of good...

Well done for getting the thread back on track!! I think i saw him mention before he always records the x1 trip time even if the RCD is being used for additional protection. Guess that's what they did "back in the day" Although that's all changing in am2 isn't it?

R1/R2 Socket adaptor for Megger 1700 series

Is it the 9118 you have? How do you find it? It's my first (and only) MFT, chosen for its good price. Generally I find it good, chews through batteries, and sometimes get some fluctuating results but pretty happy with it really

Cavity's definitely are still filled with insulation! Regardless of what google may say!!

ah, those beads that get pumped into cavities sometimes, fair enough. I only asked because in the video the room has a short wall all the way round, presumably the cavity is open at the top, and i guess with rockwool or celotex in the cavity, so running cables through it would seem a reasonable...

In the instance in the video I couldn't really see a problem with running the cables along the cavity. It's deeper than 50mm so safe zone not required. Of course, if u drill through the wall in the future you may get a bang... but that's the case with any cables out of zone and deeper than 50mm.

Braced to be shot down/or learn something, but why can't you run cables in the cavity?

It's not just about writing a risk assessment is it? You have to complete the equation and get a satisfactory answer >1000

I think at one point he get a decent ZS on another circuit, so that points to an issue on the one he's working on. Who needs a low zs anyway, there's an RCD on the circuit... that'll protect you, apart from he left the job thinking neither of the rcd s was working !!

It would be a shame to let the thread go cold when there's more beauty's like this! See if you can spot why he can't test the RCD (before reading the comments!) I didn't see him fix any faults. Saw him find a fault (high zs) and seemingly be massively confused by it. Also saw him turning...

How to correctly wire 2-way switch for ring main

This thread is craziness... lots of qualified people have said this is a stupid idea for several reasons, don't do it. Lack of funds isnt an excuse. There's nlots of things I'd like but can't afford... that's life. Save up till you can.

Yeah I know... maybe I was over reacting. No excuse for the NA in the IR test voltage tho eh?!! 😆

    I'm totally baffled !!??

Interesting, by calculation yes, but would you take a Zs measurement without bonding connected?
