    Commuting to work in London

The M1 through Luton has a speed restriction - to cut pollution I understand. It bungs up the traffic and makes pollution worse in my opinion. Probably a good revenue source as well with the varying speed limits.

RCD tripping overnight with nothing connected

Leew85, I am sorry for your current predicament but please stop poking your fingers around inside the unit, of which I assume is live! Once you have got the contractor to return, demand the EIC (Electrical Installation Certificate) and also confirmation that they have registered this job to...

RCD tripping overnight with nothing connected

If they are a professional outfit (doubtful looking at the pics) they would have no hesitation returning to sort out any problems, and hopefully tidy that mess up, including dressing the cabling properly, uprating those RCD's and installing the bus-bar cover. You shouldn't have to be inside the...

Difference between Eaton's residential & commercial duplex receptacles?

My apologies up front as not helpful to the OP at all, but I'm just glad we don't use that type of accessory in the UK. They look blimin awful. Just to add I would prefer screw terminals to push fit where outlets are concerned, as long as it is a clamp type terminal..

    RCDs, 100A vs 80A vs 63A

Apart from the reasons of profit (having to upgrade) I could never understand Screwfix/BG supplying less than 100A RCD's in the first place as they are all a very similar price. Unless I'm being naïve, it must cost more to produce the three rather than just the one 100 Amp unit?

    Apex domestic voltage optimiser

There will be some chance of that as new builds are to be installed with electric boilers from 2025. Admittedly there are heat pumps and such like available, but all at a cost.

Is this box my bell transformer?

You may need a separate din rail enclosure to mount the transformer. There's a possibility it may come with terminal covers, will have to wait and see what turns up - then post a pic.

Is this box my bell transformer?

It certainly is Whereabouts in London? Can you post a pic of the consumers unit. Generally Ring supply a transformer that can mount inside an up to date consumers unit (din rail mount)

UK hello can someone tell me the meaning of LAP (specifically) dimmer ? is it different than normal dimmer switch?

LAP is just a cheap make of accessory normally supplied from Screwfix - unless I have mis-read your post. Dimmer switches have different characteristics dependant on the particular load. Can you post images?

    High Zs reading

I think the cpc in a 2.5 T&E was uprated to 1,5 in the early 80's but I'm sure others with better knowledge will confirm
