    Sockets on different phases

"A nominal voltage exceeding 230V to earth" not between phases. edit: beat me to it

    Rcbo tripping

It wasn't made clear either way, but generally mcb's / rcbo's are switched off before the main switch - or at least should be.

    Rcbo tripping

So you are disconnecting the main earth whilst the board is still energised and circuits are switched on? Unbelievable!

    UK Ceiling light replacement

Unless its my eyes (more than likely) I can see the cpc's twisted together (earth conductors) these will need to be sleeved and go into a connector block (preferably wago) of some sort. I'm guessing the last image is for the new light and is more than likely double insulated / class 2? If not...

Starting an apprenticeship should I do industrial or domestic

What I miss not working for a large firm any more is the way knowledge gets bounced around, and the ability to keep up to date a lot easier. Not to mention the costs I now have to lay out. Debate with fellow domestic sparky

Was not pointing a finger at you, just the concept that others may see this as an excuse. Personally I would notify. Part P does seem to indicate this would be a necessity if in Wales, but isn't so clear imho for other area's.

    Debate with fellow domestic sparky

I'd say that would be a poor excuse not to notify. The circuits from such a 2 module enclosure would still be new circuits, and the ocpd characteristics would have been changed.

Timer Transformer leads to cut wire?

I can only imagine the op is on about the taped up conductor that's probably been caught in the door hinge??? Maybe its a quiz :)

    Agreed

    4mm radials

I'd rather have a open L or N leg on a ring than an open Earth leg on a radial.
