    Suitable RCCB replacent

I need to replace this old RCCB with a suitable replacement. https://circuitbreakerspecialists.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=163 Currently the one installed is not tripping on test and from the test point. Changing the entire consumer unit is not financially viable for the home owner at...

CJR Electrical - really poor workmanship video

This forum has been invaluable to me over my training years and also afterwards. There are and have been members who are not to every ones taste. The world would be a boring place if we was all the same. I watch CJR's videos (like alot of youtube channels). He has the balls to put his work...

Yes I was, hence apologising for my confusion. I will feedback to the college that they are wrong but in all fairness, I should have checked myself rather than take their word. My mistake

I was commenting on what the labels now say. Not what they mean. As far as I'm aware, the labels now say biannually. Interpret it how you want.

Twice a year. There isn't 2 January's in 12 months. If said RCD was fitted in march, personally I would test march, then september. Repeat the next year. Basically every 6 months ? haha Thats my take on it

I think it depends. In my situation the client has fancy TVs, expensive cameras, top of the range drones, scooters, projectors etc.... Some of those could easily be effected by a surge, if they were to be effected then the cost of replacing one of those items outweighs the cost of a SPD. Plus...

    Downlight suggestions

I need to install around 40 downlights in an upcoming job. Iv not had to install this amount at once before and I'm looking for fire rated and dimmable. I'm conscious that the LAP ones you can get from screwfix and the likes are cheap but may come back to bite me in the rear. Iv looked at the...

SPD because it's a friend who has alot of expensive gadgets I'd like to protect. AFD because I view it as a necessary protective device

Accidentally measuring voltage with probe attached in current channels

You will have at least blown a fuse internally. I have done it myself and it blew a fuse in the meter. Replaced it but unfortunatly I lost half the functions. Luckily it was a cheap multimeter

Any advice as to what value would be needed?

Voltage on light circuit when off

Does it make an difference that there are 2 circuits effected? Should it be 1 snubber per SL and N, for each circuit?
