    It doesn’t sound right to me, as you are installing it I would get a second opinion. I know the a house of single ocupancy over 250m sq. over three floors requires more than linked optical smokes etc.

    I would say it is best to take every supply as TNCS as you don’t know what they have done repairing and altering the supply cable down the line. I have seen aluminium concentric joined to old lead paper making the supply TNCS

    I'll be taking the lid off next week, I bet the braid isn't connected. Just noticed the 5 pin 32A sockets haven't got RCD protection either, and there are rubber extension leads all over the floor with various steel items everywhere.

    The SWA of 4 core 70mm is 138mm² the equilalent in copper is 61mm², therefore the armour is big enough on its own.
