With these mats you would have to control the temp accurately or they have a short life.A digital control is better than a capillary stat and you may need a contactor if the load is too high.

We used to use so called plastic compound,which was the same as the stuff in pyro ends.Have rubber gaskets been fitted to the box lids?Looks like water has found its way into the boxes.

Dave,Its a Baxi duotech,control terminals marked BK1 L in and BK2 L out.I can see your point about using internal boiler fuses for the external controls and may alter the wiring .

Wired an s plan recently and used the orange from each honeywell to send a switched live back to the boiler,after removing the link.Is this the best practise way,or should the greys and oranges of the valves be bridged across the control terminals of the boiler,as voltage free contacts?Thanks...
