    Shaver skt with double outlets

Might be worth checking if you can actually plug two in together, at the same time. I’m nearly sure you can’t as it’s either 230 or 110...I could be wrong here. Just some shaver sockets have a selector switch to go from 230/110...

Fault - the smell is like an old "cap" gun

Is this one of those “shot in the dark” faults or is it gonna be easy to fix like “shooting fish in a barrel” but don’t “jump the gun” or you might end up “shooting yourself in the foot” Can’t think of any more gun puns!!

Single to double back box converter

Not sure, although looking at the above picture, it appears they are designed to unscrew and rotate. I would stay clear of those converter sockets, especially Clipsal brand. Every one I’ve ever encounted has been dodgy....either plugs are difficult to insert or the switches tend to fail...

Single to double back box converter

I’ve used these before, as you can use standard double sockets...just make sure the socket fits the box as it can foul on the arrowed lugs...if you use the same brand it should be ok.

    What is electricity ?

I always think of electricity as a sort of “flow and return” flow being the live and return the neutral, which is possibly why I’ve generally found plumbing to be a doddle! Particularly once you installed the pipes, they fill themselves with water, where as once conduit is installed, the cables...

Outside light fed from 2 circuits

There’s two circuits interconnected somewhere, if it’s sockets it could be the upstairs and downstairs legs of the ring mixed up at DB, unless the two ring circuits are on separate RCDs. If there’s just one RCD, then the interconnection won’t cause it to trip, the problem only comes to...

Running a 240v fridge in a vehicle, unusual situation

If the fridge isn’t designed to be fitted in a vehicle, then using a normal (domestic or commercial) fridge in a vehicle may not be a good idea, as whenever a fridge is moved (in a vehicle) it is recommended the fridge be positioned in its place and left to stand a few hours before connecting to...
