As an upshot of the other relpys that were unhelpful..
Can I ask how you would have described the situation I'm trying to get assistance with .. ?
I think we can agree it's not a straightforward situation.. and hard to describe without a huge essay.
Thanks again to everyone who persevered to an...
Yes .. my thoughts exactly..there has been a new boiler and heating system fitted ..but previously there was no heating system and just a immersion for hot water .
Maybe in the distant past (1960s building) there was a back boiler and this a stat wire .. but no trace of any of this within...
Hi Tim
Yes .. an additional 1mm 3 core cable (old colours) was connected in a 20A mcb with a socket radial circuit... the blue was connected in the neutral bar with that circuits neutral.
The original radial socket circuit was wired in 2.5 t&e.
I disconnected the 3core from the dB..( it was to...
Hi all
EICR today on a ground floor flat .. 1 issue ..
At the consumer unit there was a 1mm core with its yellow (sleeved brown) in a 20A radial circuit mcb ( socket circuit ) and the blue in with its neutral.

Indeed .. here I am advising my customers that smart meters are fine ..no sinister games going on .. then wallop.. all the money you were getting paid for power you were charging your battery's with is gone .. but the thing is .. you signed a 20/25 year contract .. so how do they change that...
Hi all
Is anyone aware of the change to solar generation FIT payment contracts for existing installations. (FIT payment scheme closed in 2019)

Each flat has a RCD main...
I don't think there is a conspiracy here .. but I do think 5he sort of loadings we are talking about with things like electric boilers and single phase car chargers have just never been seen before .. I was looking at a 14kw electric boiler today ..so 14000÷230=60.8A .. but the paperwork with it...
Hi Richard
Yes .. this had not been used to disconnect at all as far as we can tell .. never been used since installation in fact.
We have always advised customers not to use there shower isolator to switch the shower on and off on load for this reason.

The most recent that I'm referring to as an example was actually a schneider electric 50A dp switch that...
I refer again to some manufacturers 13A socket outlets that are not rated for 13A continuous .. and some are .. such sockets intended for use charging cars for instance should be rated for 13A continuous.. .. does this apply to other fittings?

But any ideas where I can find rated duty info for manufacturers fittings so I can tell what to fit.?
