    Same as what Polo has said, I recently left the NICEIC because it costs too much money for what I get out of it, I can do a re wire without notifying, as long as all certs are done then no issues there. I would also give a quote but booked past September. Hope all goes well and keep in touch let...

    To have changed the fuse board he should have carried out the EICR beforehand, especially as that was the main reason he was there!

    An EIC and EICR are completely different, he should have issued you with both, EIC for changing the consumer unit and EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) for the 'landlord safety certificate'.

    It is about preference, and that can change as well, I wasn't a fan of the notch in sidecutters but now use them religiously.

    I use snips to cut down the middle, extract the earth and pull it down like in the video, the quickest way to do it IMO.

    GSM intercom change at a local shopping centre, intercom is used to control a barrier. Couple of days at a rewire probably Thursday and Friday. Automating a set of gates tomorrow.

    I normally re calculate from the first spot out at 700mm, to the last spot out at 700mm, using them as the new edge of wall, if that make sense.

    Generally 600mm-800mm depending in joists, they decide most of the time, hate them! And edge of worktop, too far in causes shadows.
