    Exploding Lamps

    Goya call from old lady saying over the past year she has changed around 40 lamps ( some exploding ) in her bungalow !! Other than cheap lamps any ideas ? Different light fittings I am told. I am going to investigate on Thursday any pointers? Cheers Haj

    All be warned of O&H building contractors based in Waterlooville Iled by a Mr David Hayes I rewired a bungalow locally and after the poor workmanship by him he took the money off the new owners then did a runner !! He took around 8 grand off them in total including my fee

    That's it to stop fire spreading through the fitting. I believe aurora do a downlight that you can cover with insulation !!!!

    Good point Daz but wanted to be sure about running near to max for long periods but the stat wiil keep it right. My mind recalls the test in connections magazine about running on max for long periods so just made me think to check with the years of experience you all have. Cheers

    That explains the thanks button then ! So thanks Gentlemen Yes it's on a stat so I suppose will only be pulling max on start up.

    Light loading as kitchen appliances on own ring I was more concerned about running the sfs at near max for long periods.

    Gents How do you all feel about running a sfs from the ring for underfloor heating at 11 amps max according to the manufacturer ? It would be a bit over the 2kw dedicated circuit recommended by bs7671 ? But as usual called in too late !! Cheers Haj

    Morning Gentlemen I have had no involvement in solar we do a scout camp for a week every summer and was thinking can we get a 12v system going on for charging phones lights ect ? Would it be expensive to set up? Cheers for any advice
