I would just comment on the cert why all tests weren't performed. I think these people just want something as a record to say its been done and its ok.
I dont know what its connected to. The reason for the change is just to modernise an old dirty light fitting, which still works fine. Not due to a fault or anything.
As its currently working with no reported issues i didnt see the need to go down the route of performing R1+R2 and or IR test.
Its not that they wont let me test. I think its more about access into the distribution board, permits to work etc etc. I dont have a live working kit and have been told that the installation must remain on, so i can only isolate the circuit i am going to be working on.
Would an IR test be practical though? I dont know what else is on the circuit and a small job suddenly becomes that little bigger if i have to start identifying why im getting odd readings.
Ive recently had to do similar, where i have extended the tails via a SWA to a new consumer in a large extension ive been working on. I was able to run the SWA externally and terminated it either end into a large PVC IP rated adaptable box. Inside the box i mounted din rail and din rail...
Got a small job to do this week replacing an existing light fitting for a new customer. Im not familiar with the installation so dont know what sort of state it is going to be in. During my conversations with the customer they have asked for a certificate to be completed for the work. I told...
Anybody with any experience of this range of accessory care to shed any light ( no pun intended ) on it for me. Basically i have just completed a large 1st fix extension, and my customer has now told me thet intend on using the lightwave range. Ive had a quick look whilst i was on site as my...
Sat in on one of these a few months ago at a local training provider. Got some good info, i seem to remember at the time the combined detector wasnt available
Looks like i’ll be sticking with aico. I wasnt aware the multi sensor heat and Co was available, and having two seperate devices would have looked awful.
Wasnt aware of that. Ive got a useful little handbook from aico and they recommend the ceiling as opposed to a wall for mounting of Co alarms. Id still be left with having to mount a heat detector somewhere suitable on the ceiling.
I wasnt aware that aico had a combined heat/Co anyone got any links. This would be a much better option as the other areas ( utility room, landing, hall and living room ) arnt finished to as high spec as the kitchen.
other than aico can anyone recommend any? Im looking for mains powered with battery back up and will require a combination of smoke, heat and Co detectors. Nothing against aico have used them many times amd will do again. The customers on a current job have asked about alternatives as they dont...
