Totally agree PC am spending a vast amount of time at the minute trying to find solutions to changing DB's/equipment where there's just been no fore thought will need replacing one day and no direct replacements for them
Yeah spotted that Bruce unfortunately only do the double stack ones. Think tennant would likely come home ----ed one night and knock themselves out hitting their head on it. My ones right above bloody door....proper pain finding one suitable at minute
Exactly Snowhead lol landlord complete penny pincher aswell turned up in his 4x4 Merc and trying to convince me to pass EICR didn't even bother doing a proper one. Was on ground floor no rcds, cracked sockets, metal lights in bathroom and cables hanging out back of cooker connection plate minus...
Haha had a feeling someone would say that. Me think me gonna have problems with this one apart from trying to find a dual tariff board with right distribution of ways the ------- needs to be less than 250mm in height as existing one is above front door ?
Having trouble find a a dual tariff DB suitable for set up for this property. Can find a 5x5 way board but not suitable as have 7 ways on peak supply side. If not is there any RCBO's that are compatible for this board? Thanks

Thanks Taylor on clarifying on whether the the lights are actually fitted into an actual fire rated ceiling. This actual property is a block of apartments that is a converted warehouse. There is no sign of the lights being extra close to wooden joists but hard to make out if above the actual...
Hi All
Am continuously getting failed EICR'S sent over to quote on remedials for non fire rated downlights. These are lights in question. I see they have exposed conductors so would personally probably code 2 but what would code be for fire rating they are low voltage if that even makes a...
Thanks for clarification PC so am right in thinking then if is a TT installation if either install dual rcd board with non rcd main switch or all rcbos I have still achieved the required disconnection times. Thank
Another query for you's. I haven't had a chance to check out supply type for property yet so there is a possibility it could be a TT earthing arrangement although very much doubt it. I find the fact that they installed a 300ma main switch pretty strange. Has 300ma circuit protection ever been a...
It is metallic freddo. I hear you with covering arse with mixing enclosure but just seems to be a non issue in my opinion if din tails are all made to a certain spec and fit both same spec main switch and rcbos surely we have pretty much not changed any other important characteristics of a pre...
Top man Westward. I'll have to check whether have the 8mm to spare. It's more likely that will go with RCBO's so hopefully these won't be much bigger. Don't suppose you have one of those as well do you? ?
Thanks for heads up Kropaske had already thought of this. Just going to order a second hand old mcb and compare it to new bits for sizing to be sure it's a goer
Cheers mate ? I knew it was a pretty stupid question thanks for clarifying

Very true Tel lol. Got my vote this the way forward will order bits tomorrow
Thanks Kropaske
The second option would be preferable if doable. What are you suggesting leave everything in internally including din rail? And mount RCD's, MCB's etc to this. Not sure if existing din rail likely to be suitable for this or if would be falling foul of manufacturers spec. But...
? it's looking like it might come to that Freddo. Got a metabo wall chaser could just get my straight edges with it and just blast out the back and sides
