    Can't you just get the cable inside the shower unit then a connector to extend them wouldn't be so bad. I would try and replace to isolator if they is one but failing that get the connector inside the unit.

    Yeah I totally agree with you but unfortunately here in Hull most company's pay around £12hr as I have seen many adverts for jobs and all say £12 some say less. I think I should be on more but I have to take what I can get in my area.

    13.50 isn't bad I am only on 12.50 paye on the books with a company van and holidays. I think it mostly depends on where your from and if the company is a jib registered company.

    Was going to say the same thing as tele above. In series you loose voltage over the loads so you wouldn't get 230V over all lights. Wire in parallel.

    Is he a member of a competent person scheme or was it just a guy off the street. I have seen a few people who have had a new consumer unit fitted and just gone with the cheapest quote which ends up been from diy Dave who says he knows what he is doing.
