    I think I was the earth connection at that point! Would the resistance of long extension lead combined with mowers own lead cause any issue to prevent the RCD tripping if the current was only small?

    If the flicker affects table lamps plugged into socket outlets, maybe next time the fault occurs, switch off the lighting ccts via their MCB's and see if the flicker on the table lamp stops?

    I wasn't for one minute suggesting it would comply with our standards simply making an observation about what I'd seen to get around the issue of running cables in a cast concrete building..
