But if you connected the earth to the neutral on the incomer to the rcd then at a fault condition of line to earth that should show the imbalance on the RCD output side to trip it. I think ??
Slightly concerned on the comment 'said to my friend, don't worry done that a few times' !!!!
Has the phrase learn from ones mistakes taken a back seat these days ??
Not an expert but certainly is a grey area with no definitive answer in the reg's.
If the basement room is to remain just a basement and not everyday accommodation the why not sell the idea to your client that as the cu will now be out of sight out of mind then it is prudent that you install the...
Judging by the website wording and the terms and conditions it's sub contract to independant engineers as they invoice labour charges direct to customer and also it there own insurance that covers work carried out, not Multicore National.
Some big claims on the webs site which I would take at a...
Hi Pete,
Yes well aware that the terminology is used in hazardous area protection concepts.....but it is not exclusive to that use and can be used for other purposes
Intrinsically safe has to do with hazardous atmospheres.
But the term is not exclusive to hazardous area classification / concept descriptions.
It is an entirly acceptable and correct way to describe the requirement of a piece of equipment or tooling that it should not allow harm or injury to...
sorry no actual input to give but was wondering if the existing boiler is powered from a supply direct from the house and therefore is earthed via the house supply with presumably the copper piping mechanically connected to this earth. I have no idea if this has any implication with regard to...
No manufacturers marking, no test house marking, I doubt it has had any testing carried out and will probably wear and round out very early on knackering the screws in the equipment it's being used on. A bargain is when you manage to buy an item at below what's it's price should be, I expect...
I'm pretty sure that the schematic of Brown (line) to Neutral is probably just an error by the artist producing the drawings for the manual and that no body has picked up on it before. Just contact the manufacturer directly and ask for confirmation.
It looks like the clock/alarm was placed on a rug on the floor looking at the burn area. possibly limiting air flow required for ventilation. If there was something faluty with the clock then maybe it wasn't able to dissipate the heat out which resuted in fire. All in it will probably come down...
definitely not right.
Do the neons on the heater stay on even if the fuse is removed from the wall plate. If they do then it is not a faulty switch but incorrectly wired with the only over current protection provided by the circuit breaker or fuse unit provided by the circuit wiring the heater...
Well i'm not an expert in the subject or in law, but when you say 'uk law regarding vehicle lighting' I think you mean 'UK regulations'. It is I believe the courts that would decide if regulations have been broken should your dad be pulled over and be charged for using blue flashing lights. The...
Jamie, which emergency service is you dad employed by as an emergency driver ?
I may be wrong but I believe that there are quite a lot of restrictions on who can use blue flashing lights and on what vehicle (i'm assuming we are talking UK by the way). It sounds like you may be thinking of...
That's nothing, when I moved into our current house 18 years ago the tails from meter to CU was actually 4mm twin and earth.
Soon had the seals snipped, fuse out and new tails installed along with an isolator between the two. However I have to say the T&E showed no sign of heat damage.
And on...
I don't want to be unkind but is this being used in a commercial / production process. Type of construction, quality of labeling, poor translation and lack of serial number suggests to me that even if you get the current situation cleared it probably won't be long before you get other problems...
I would be interested to hear how you get on with this.
Certainly there is a case for recompense for replacing faulty units, however I'm not convinced that MK would pay for going to check installations on the off chance because the installer did not keep records of serial numbers of installed...
