    Cat S60 Smartphone

I know this is a bit old now, but I just sent my S60 back for a refund (Amazon). It was fairly hopeless as a smart phone, kept freezing up when doing stuff in apps and couldn't run TomTom Go properly at all - which is fine on my Galaxy S7 that I've gone back to, in an armoured case.

Caravan and Camping Site - Diversity

The caravan club restricts to 16A per caravan - modern vans have electric warm air heaters, water heaters, telly and then throw in a hair dryer, kettle, etc and the load could go ridiculously high. This PDF shows how they reach their rating, might be useful -...

    Impact Drivers

Have a look at this lunatic's guy's channel on Youtube. He explains it rather well, albeit somewhat maniacally.

    Smart home rewire

The link to Alexa is another tool in the box of automation. And this will be useful for people who find it difficult to "Just get orrff your fat arse," and to be able to turn lights on/off or switch off the telly and all the boxes etc that go with it, just by voice command, will be very useful...

    Smart home rewire

I'm just getting into this myself. Have a look at the LightwaveRF kit. You can replace standard sockets, light switches etc, with wireless controlled units. If you ever want to move, you can return it to standard again. This also work with Amazon's Alexa, so you can voice control stuff. I...

Hi, new guy here & some help needed with RCDs

Sorry for the delay in replying. At present they are connected to the metal case of the fusebox, to its earthing point and is using the armour of the old 2 core 2.5mm SWA. There is T&E cabling running along some of the frame to the lights, but the earth system seems to work ok as I had one cable...

Hi, new guy here & some help needed with RCDs

Leesparky, thanks for the advice. I'll look into it and see what I can do with the main board. I've already bonded the steel frame and metal doors of the garage several years ago, but I have a very old (as in ancient) fuse box in there that needs replacing.

Hi, new guy here & some help needed with RCDs

OK, please explain why it doesn't - which would make life much easier I guess? If I don't need it, I can take it out. I'm going by what was demonstrated on my recent course, which was as I have described and I assumed it was correct. And the board is high integrity.

Hi, new guy here & some help needed with RCDs

I have a TNS system and it will be 4mm 3 core SWA clipped to a fence. In the house it will be under floorboards, with plenty of space around it (two feet between floor and the ground). I want RCD in the garage as I want to fit an external socket for use in the garden and secondly, if there is a...

Hi, new guy here & some help needed with RCDs

Hi, Just qualified City & Guilds 4555, 2393, 2382 and (EAL) 2394 with Able Skills in January and now a full time handyman - I have no intention of ever rewiring a house, just doing the smaller jobs. I'm looking to practice at home first and my garage needs a rewire. I'm happy with the...
