    Daft question I'm sure

This is why the regs had to change to make them lower down. In the old days, when he/ her finishes the apprenticeship, in five years, they could reach that. But you don't grow much in 5 days.

    Advise need for fans

The building regs, including part F, only applies to new builds or substantial alterations. I wouldn't think a kitchen revamp would be defined as substantial or that building control are involved in this. However, assuming that you won't have to comply, part F does provide some useful...

    Fluke product recall.......

The self test is a tip to tip test. I believe the recall is due to a faulty termination on one of the leads. It can make our break depending on the position of the lead, giving a false negative. So, in this case, the test was as effective as any proving unit.

    2 spurs from a Junction Box....worried?

I think it's clear from the original post that it's off the ring. The diagram is not up to Richards standard though.

    2 spurs from a Junction Box....worried?

Interesting debate. I've found myself pondering different scenarios which I thought I would share. I don't know the answer but it would be interesting to hear members views. 1. Two wago boxes side by side on the ring (as mentioned earlier in the thread) with a spur from each. Would this be...

Connecting a wireless thermostat to a glow worm boiler

Given that the boiler is "room sealed" and has a balanced flue with an exhaust fan to create negative pressure in the combustion chamber and air intake from outside. are you saying that the clip over the top and 2 small screws at the bottom are sufficient to hermetically seal that boiler? And...

Power Meters for domestic ventilation testing

You could try a temp fly lead to your L at the FCU. Then with a decent clamp meter wrap it round 10 times. Divide the result by 10. That should give an average reading that should be good enough for what you need.
