Hi im new and learning the electrical and would just like a bit of help with electrical testing, ie what test instrument tests what and why
any information would be a big help
cheers
Im currently studying electrical and im up to dead tests.
ive reached continuity of ring final circuit on my scenario cd , in therory i understand the procedure and what to do but im a little un sure on finding the mid point on the sockets .
please can sombody go threw it step by step in...
from what ive been shown line end to end is R1, cpc end to end is R2 and neutral end to end is Rn.
The values of R1,R2 and Rn will indicate whether or not the conductors are continuous.
Once you cross connect the conductors to create a parallel circuit thats when they become r1 r2 rn
Like i said at the begining of this thread iam training to become an electrician so i came on here for as much help and advise i could get, the calculation ive done so far is for the fuse rateing . 4x600w=2,400w ÷230v =10.3473....amps.
Ive checked the regulations and the cable size and fuse...
regarding the radial circuit im pretty clued up with the regs and using 2.5mm cable and a 16mcb,its compliant, as for the ring main and branching off of it not so much
cheers mate , theres no radial circuit for the lights , its just 1 radial circuit for the socket outlests for plug in lights , the cable run is pretty straight forward , straight up from the downstaires C/U to the loft in trunking.
He does have a socket on the staires directly under the loft on...
no i do mean 600w each, 2,400w in total i have done the calculation and current carrying capacity is 10.4347 amps
sorry i should of been more clear, theres no lighting circuit its just for the socket outlets ,
and hii all :)
Im currently training as an electrician through ATL but i have actually been to college and done my level 1 and 2, plus had on site experience to a cirtain degree.
my friend has asked me to put a new circuit from the consumer unit to his loft as he is converting it, he wants 2 socket outlets to...
