What to do with distributers earth after conversion to TT & advice on where to place the rod

I used one of those ‘safe digs’ web search, when I was considering an earth rod for my property, for a tub supply. It was a new build at the time, but didn’t show either my gas or electric supply. Now it might of been because it was so new at the time, but doesn’t inspire confidence.

Terms & Conditions Template request 🙏

If you do domestic work and in a Scheme, they should have a T&C template.

    Business Start-up Help

I tried and failed. Did work for a bathroom/kitchen fitting company, which helped. But towards the end, I wasn't turning over enough, to pay myself a monthly salary, after all the bills have been paid. There's loads of sole trader sparks, and domestic customers seem to expect you to do work...

What type of pool have these covers been installed in, council swimming pool, outdoor pool, Spa etc? (Non electrical question).

    Underwater lighting?

LED lights from the UK lighting manufacturer | Collingwood Lighting - https://www.collingwoodlighting.com/en/ have some good products, if expensive. They also offer advice on lighting, I believe.

NAPIT Certification Scheme Is there a yearly NAPIT assessment?

I did wonder when I was in a Scheme, what changed from one year to the next. However, thats what this thing is all about, supposedly verifying someones competency. They get their money, and they should be doing the job they were tasked to do, and protecting the domestic consumer.

different make SPD in consumer unit

I might be in the minority here, but I don't think the 'council person' is being unreasonable. They will have a large portfolio of properties, and will have CDM agenda etc, so why take the risk and have something thats perhaps have might increase the risk for them?

different make SPD in consumer unit

See, I just thought you just can't mix and match manufacturers components. Seems you can, but there seems one little caveat from this link Myth Buster; This is developed in Note 2 to regulation 536.4.203, which states that ‘If an assembly deviates from its original manufacturer’s instructions...

    swimming pool zones.

Yes if you could. There’s some drive to have pool covers fitted on a pool in our Spa at work. From pics I’ve seen, they don’t seem very nice.

Out of interest (not electrical), do you have pics of pool covers, stored away?

Are all EV charge point installers this bad?

I suppose like all proof reading of publications, errors don't always get picked up. Seem to recall, has happened previously with BS7671.

    Can't get into a fitting!

On our ones at work, the diffuser pops out from the base, with the help of a flat blade screwdriver. There's a very small indent in the diffuser, where you can push in the screwdriver. Takes a lot of bashing, with the palm of your hard to get them back in. Edit; not saying yours are exactly...

Flickering LED room lights in a new house my son is having built.

And perhaps just poor quality lamps? LED lamps don't take much power to cause them to illuminate or flicker, even though its light switch is in off position. A circuit 'snubber' can sometimes help if flickering occurs, with switch turned on.

EV - after few pointers please

There's a guy on our new build estate, that managed to secure a plot for his own purposes. He's had a 3 phase supply connected. Has solar panels on the roof, and apparently intends to have 2 x ev points. I'd love to have a snoop around inside! Only ever seen his van parked outside.
