    Emergency lighting confusion.

It seems to me, What you have here is a Non- Maintained emergency light fitting, ie when the power is on, the led charging light will be on but the lamp will be off and when you isolate the power via the key switch the lamp will come on powered via the battery and the led charging light will be...

How many eicr in a day

The sad bit about all of this is that's it's not the company who will suffer, But the poor bugger who is daft enough to put his/her signature on the paperwork as the responsible person !!! You are the one that they will come hunting for if disaster strikes.

How many eicr in a day

You can't really foretell what faults you are going to find or repairs needed to put the installation in a satisfactory condition so very hard to judge unless you have some prior knowledge of installations you are attending.

RikoD91 Unfortunately the guys are spot with their judgement that you really shouldn't be working on your own at this stage and where is your mentor in all of this ? You really should be seeking their advice and knowledge or that of the company you are working for if that is the case. I...

5amp Lighting circuit with no power

You say 5amp and although 5 amp is written on the consumer unit, The MCB is 10amp unless my eye sight has shot it or I've missed something in your question. If the circuit is fed from that mcb then I'm guessing like someone said that a FCU is install somewhere on that circuit PC1966 beat me to it

UK Why Are Incoming Live/Neutral 16mm and Tails From Consumer Unit 25mm

I don't think I said that 16mm tails were inadequate, I was agreeing with the comments made by others that under the correct circumstances they would be more than suffice for the job. My point was that for a lot of people out there who perhaps feel under pressure, or somehow don't have the...

UK Why Are Incoming Live/Neutral 16mm and Tails From Consumer Unit 25mm

I don't disagree with any of the points made on 16mm tails, However I would say that most people don't probably want the confrontation with their inspector during the annual assessment and so just choose to install 25mm tails to get the boxes ticked and save themselves all the hassle.

1 gang to 2 gang Converter - how does it work?

Solid wall or not, I would sooner spend ten minutes knocking a bit more out than fitting one of these, But as a quick fix I suppose they are ok just not for me personally speaking.
