It seems to me, What you have here is a Non- Maintained emergency light fitting, ie when the power is on, the led charging light will be on but the lamp will be off and when you isolate the power via the key switch the lamp will come on powered via the battery and the led charging light will be...
The sad bit about all of this is that's it's not the company who will suffer, But the poor bugger who is daft enough to put his/her signature on the paperwork as the responsible person !!! You are the one that they will come hunting for if disaster strikes.
You can't really foretell what faults you are going to find or repairs needed to put the installation in a satisfactory condition so very hard to judge unless you have some prior knowledge of installations you are attending.
Well normally I ask the tenant, landlord or letting agency for a key and then return it after use or if a coded door the access code, although I have used the door mat option on occasions as well
Good to hear that you went for it Thommo and all is going well.
I wouldn't worry too much about all the books, You come across to me like a bloke who has their head screwed on the right way if you know what I mean !

Unfortunately the guys are spot with their judgement that you really shouldn't be working on your own at this stage and where is your mentor in all of this ?
You really should be seeking their advice and knowledge or that of the company you are working for if that is the case.

Yes that is my understanding as well.
I can only see this as another method for the training establishments to cash in.
The Part P document is free to download from the government website and has all the information that you need in there
Take the advice of those who have given you their wisdom of experience and buy yourself a dedicated voltage tester before you become a statistic on the death by electric shock register

Going on the Qualifications you quoted don't think you will...

If the circuit is fed from that mcb then I'm guessing like someone said that a FCU is install somewhere on that circuit

My point was that for a lot of people out there who perhaps feel under pressure, or somehow don't have the...
I don't disagree with any of the points made on 16mm tails, However I would say that most people don't probably want the confrontation with their inspector during the annual assessment and so just choose to install 25mm tails to get the boxes ticked and save themselves all the hassle.
Solid wall or not, I would sooner spend ten minutes knocking a bit more out than fitting one of these, But as a quick fix I suppose they are ok just not for me personally speaking.

If you are going to any, go for the 16week, at least this will give a better insight and a bit more knowledge.
However, I would add that combined...
