Well the sockets no longer work as you have basically interrupted the feed to them and by leaving it in the present condition you are leaving it in a highly dangerous state as live wires can be access !
Judging by the newer cable colours someone has already taken a spur from that socket or is...
To be honest with you, If you are in the process of renovating the bungalow anyhow it would make sense to me to do a full rewire whilst you are at it !
Pardon the pun ! But I think there must be some crossed wires in the council department ! Personally I would go down to the council office and demand to speak to whoever said this rubbish and get it sorted.
I feel there has been a mix up somewhere along the lines of communication and they still...
Have a look at Westward's post ! I can tell you that in the 4th edition COP It states that Equipment covered by and requiring inspection and testing in accordance with BS EN 62353 is outside the scope of this Code of practice
Brian
Apart from not owning a copy of BS7671
You do realise working in Social Housing that you have a duty of care towards the Tenants !
So if anything goes wrong with the wiring you may have to answer a few questions !
Just an observation so don't take it personally
John
There are a mixture of things that are having a big role in people's life at the moment, the covid 19, all the challenges at that brings, the work situation, fear of redundancy, not providing for your family and then you have on top of that your health, working nights will obviously not be...
If you really want to beef the door frame up, flat bar around the front of the door frame to prevent the crow bar attack you mentioned.
Like James has indicated beefing the door up and forgetting the rest of the building may be a pointless exercise.
To be honest if there is something in there...
No harm in some competition, But as said by others, Probably be very hard for them to break the existing mould of NICEIC, if you are just a one man band and wanting to cut costs then you are still working within the legal framework of Part P notifying your work etc.,
With the new government initiative, We will all be on pedal power becoming a fit and slender nation.
No more cars required !
On a serious note, I feel we are a long way off in the push to make everyone go down the route of electric vehicle, perhaps in the big cities they may be more common...
Well I was going to say around £10,000 as a ball point figure without really sitting down to work it out !
At that price, materials must have fallen off the back of a lorry and working for peanuts per hour
Your friend needs to get onto the letting agent and demand the EICR after all they paid for it, so it is their right to see it !
And then post it up here for people to cast their eye over and give advice
It stinks mate !! They are the low of the lowest these people who give no thought or consideration to someone trying to earn a living by doing the right thing - Working !
I think that is an option that you should consider, only you will know the full circumstances around why you were put on the register and I'm guessing there may have been some input from people who specialise in this field at the time.
Certainly for most jobs a standard DBS will be required and...
Proof of qualifications
Proof of insurance, public liability probably £2m, if doing EICR's then indemnity insurance
Current calibration certificate's for test instruments
Risk assessments
Safe working methods
A couple of jobs to take assessor to see (if still doing that with Covid19 around)...
I've gone to some units whereby the batteries hadn't been changed since they were installed in the early 90's then people wonder why they don't work !!!
To be honest Rattlehead85, I would be inclined to swop them all for LED fittings, less hassle and if you are replacing parts in each fitting...
When you unplug the battery you are basically putting the unit into normal power supply mode (230V) and it will operate from the S/L
Connect the battery up and if it is dead the unit will not work as it identifies a fault
I believe you said that it is in an NHS property ?
Are they on a...
