3 phase problem after spark did 5 year safety inspection

I cannot see a SP breaker in the TP board to feed the SP board, so do the tails go to the Henleys and then straight to the incoming fuse? - If so i assume (again) this is either a 80A or 100A TP supply?

3 phase problem after spark did 5 year safety inspection

Only going to know for sure with photos of the back of the clamp and back plate, if there are no marks i would agree and internal failure of the isolator comes into play, then was it caused by a loose connection or an internal failure of the DP Isolator. I saw the split in the tail on L2 supply...

3 phase problem after spark did 5 year safety inspection

Perhaps should have mentioned it. You are looking for - what looks like a poor attempt at welding.. You should see black burn marks either at the back of the red clamp or black burn marks on the backplane, the melted - either copper or steel is plain to see in the pic. Its no big deal, *hit...

    Introducing myself

Welcome, you will have witnessed the move from carbs to injection and distributor with points to ECUs, lambda sensors and the like , my latest car appears to be a critique of my driving style , jamming on the brakes to avoid a non existant collision, worst passenger i have ever had.... Wonder...

    EICR - Extent of Sampling

Thats basically how i have done the larger sites, usually by substation. So start at sub 1, flow out to MDBS and onto DBs, finish that section and then later move onto Sub 2 etc until the whole site is done. On the bigger sites, for the employee electricians i provide a "interim list of Code...

    EICR - Extent of Sampling

Have to reply :) - What is the point ? - So client says i have £3.50 to spend on a report, want a satisfactory, choose the best ccts, lol That report i would throw in the bin and am surprised anyone would accept a cct sheet showing 48way board with 12 ccts filled in , the rest limitations...

    EICR - Extent of Sampling

Never done cct based sampling, its going to make the reports sheets look "strange" and how do you determine for sure what cct goes where with what load. Even though its brand new does not mean it was installed satisfactory in the first place. If its new and commercial, should not be too...

    Rako lighting systems

TBH, there are a number of "things" that need to be checked, not least where the lamps and cables are going. All my recommendations are based on helping the Op get an electrician in rather than a Rako specialist. To the OP, DS is questioning the voltage rating of the outgoing cables from the...

    Rako lighting systems

Lack of earthing on those lighting ccts is not ideal but in reality you will be looking at double insulated GU10 fitting which do not have provision for an earth connection. However BS7671 recommends earth provision for the future, just in case the fittings are changed for Class 1 (i.e...

    Rako lighting systems

Just occured to me that these lamps could be in a bathroom or en-suite which may be why they were kept at 12V in the first place, if so, its almost certain that option 1 converting to 240V lamps wont fly due to regs.

No i dont work south of Rugby, thats why i was trying to advise remotely - You have a couple of options change all the MR11s for 240V GU10s dimmable and ditch the transformer altogether, trick here is to make sure the dimmable GU10s match the existing dimming module in the Rako. Another...

How to fill gaps around sockets installed on uneven natural stone tiles ?

Had a similar wall to install 14 featurelights and couple of sockets. I used a Dremel with diamond encrusted points, didn't take as long as i expected as the stone was relatively soft. You can get super accurate with a dremel , client absolved me of all liability and tiler was happy it was me...

    Rako lighting systems

As AVO mentioned, there is not an RCD in the fusebox you have photographed , this looks like a sub board off your main fuseboard ? where there may be an RCD, if it is the B10 MCBs that are tripping this makes sense if the fuse is also blowing, however i am confused about the role of these...

    Rako lighting systems

"I keep get fuses blowing in the old style toroidal transformers" Where are the fuses that are blowing ? No problem with several switches operating the same light. Is the issue (s) confined to ccts on the same module or across both modules, also how are the modules powered from the "fuse box"...

    Rako lighting systems

Can you upload a pic of the dimming module which is blowing fuses. I have had units blow fuses and the units can be sent back to Rako for repair. Need to make sure that your loads are balanced so you dont have too much lighting on one channel. You may also have a fault on the cable from the unit...
