As I said, a real pity as I certainly did have the reyrolle stuff - I had the documents for almost all the relays and most switchgear etc going back well before I started.
But needed the space and a certain break from the work aspects, so dumped loads of the stuff!
Still more to sort out though!
Sorry, it's a real pity, I have recently thrown the majority of my 'library' out - being more retired now, I dumped several loads.

I have checked, and the only thing reyrolle I still have is their reference manual ~1982 (equivalent to GEC's PRAG) and there is nothing in that.

Do you mean the bottom section for single appliances and other applications?
It is my understanding that this really relates to the final aspects, such as pendant drops etc rather than fixed wiring
It would not be compliant with the wiring regulations, the minimum size conductor for lighting circuits is 1mm^2
If there is a fused connection unit, or plug with a suitable fuse for the flex then it would comply.
The principle is that fixed wiring is protected by the mcbs or rcbos or fuses...
I understand that may be your experience, however mine has been quite different, so I think it is rather disingenuous to class all maintenance people with a low level of competency.
I have delt with far too many contracting companies and "electricians" with such a low level of ability - it...

The diving is great, but I haven't toured much of the island, usually berth/board in Lerwick from the Aberdeen ferry and the usual trips up to Brae to Frankies fish & chip place (best on the island?! - it's ok) and of course ----t for photos...
Ultimately the electrician doing the work will have their own opinion and likes or dislikes, so check with them and if they are happy with what you are doing.
Unfortunately it isn't so clear cut.
There are restrictions for rooms containing a bath or shower, in Scotland this includes that switches (such as lights) are prohibited - although pull switches are OK.
However it has been established that anything in a fixed cupboard or enclosure is defined...
It is extremely unusual for industrial electricians, or their companies to be in a scheme, as it adds nothing.
There is NO requirement to be in a scheme in order to issue certificates.
Issuing of a certificate, or testing, is completely unrelated to scheme membership - scheme membership is...
I missed this point, sorry.
No they are not similar spec'ed.
The correct capacitor is protection class S2, that means when it fails is goes open circuit, most of the cheaper ones are class S0, or S1, that means there is no way to know how it will fail, or it will fail short circuit - these...
