    Think you misunderstood the post, back in the day it was only red and black you only seen brown and blue in flex and for referring to new colours I was relating to where the colour choice came from for neutral making reference to new and old does that make more sense now

    Not 3 phase Red yellow and blue are all phase Now brown black grey Blue was only neutral in flexes Red and black wher phase and neutral now brown and blue where is the confusion

    Think you are only allowed 3m unsupported in a cavity or vertical duct but it all depends on insulation type for example styrene would degrade cable so probably best to chase so limiting damage when pulling in etc I could go on forever but whoever does job would decide on the job what’s best...

    To be honest the tools you use should be the best you can afford and stop using the joint boxes supplied with downlights etc and be more confident in yourself But most of all I find with apprentices keep off your phone

    Transformer casing is Loose and may need spray lacquer or hot glue to stop buzzing if new mirror replace. the wiring is not the problem

    Fuse spur to light only feasible way assuming it’s an outdoor light above an external door and spur is indoors Assuming your getting a spark to do it he would know best
