    Unbelievable.............

After seeing that video, I think you could be serious! The crazy thing of all is, rather than snidely installing this bodge, he actually thinks that that is an acceptable way of doing things, to the point he had the brass balls to post it on youtube as an instructional video. was it the same...

    EICR code car park lighting

Yes I agree The bollards are also around footpaths and in the grassy areas of the flats where the kids play around in the summer If one is knocked over it’s not hard to imagine an inquisitive child messing about with it

    EICR code car park lighting

Yes the bollards are regularly knocked over by vehicles 🙄 sometimes the cabling is exposed until I get the call to get there and repair them

New rewire and fuse board - views on work.

I supply two quotes when quoting a board, one for dual rcd, one for full rcbo, with a strong recommendation to fit the rcbo board and with the continuing drop in rcbo costs this is getting an easier argument to win in most cases I would say I get about 60% go with the rcbo board( when it’s...

New rewire and fuse board - views on work.

there is a reason why cables shouldn't be perfectly arrange in the fuse box because it could create electromagnetic field resulting in humming sound in the fuse box 🤣🤣🤣 Thats an absolute cracker that!!

New rewire and fuse board - views on work.

How has it been fully rewired with all those red and black circuits in there? that’s a total dogs dinner, is that actually the finished job or halfway through the job? as said above, if that’s the CU your working with, maybe 3 or 4 rcbos at the front would help a bit to split the circuits up...

    UK Plastic chrome light switches

From reading the post I interpreted it that the original wiring was 1960's odd, PVC two core only and at a later date an additional single core CPC has been run in to earth the ceiling lights, the OP says G&Y, if it was existing it would of been bare wire with no insulation I fully agree that...

    UK Plastic chrome light switches

Yes let’s be honest, the chance of getting a shock off a recessed screw head on a plastic plate is absolutely minuscule But there’s certainly no harm in just chucking a pack of nylon screws in your screw box and using them when the situation arises

    UK Plastic chrome light switches

i do understand your point but surely in the real world, the original installation was indeed intended to be class 2 by design and although not strictly compliant with the current regulations By removing a potentially hazardous situation and returning it to its original design, from a probable...

    UK Plastic chrome light switches

When in a similar situation myself before now I have removed the existing chrome class1 switch and installed a white pvc switch plate with nylon screws then stuck these on the top...

UK EON smart meter installation nightmare

Yes I would agree with that, and also the amount of times they will reconnect existing undersized, single insulated or vir tails to a smart meter, then seal it, preventing me from legally replacing them is truly frustrating when upgrading a consumer unit
