Free safety checks, then scaring customers into having work done.

1st off they asked if i would do any work for them. ive done a couple of callouts for them in the past, they're practically my neighbours so they TRUST me (very important to elderly folks). I told them that they dont HAVE to do anything. but to replace the consumer unit would be an...

Metrel Eurotest Mi3100. Low ohms problems

I know its a bit late in this instance, but i understand that AVO do very reliable and stable meters. i use a fluke 1652 at the mo and that can be a bit random at times.

    Type B and C RCBO's together?

fair point! and for the purposes of an assesment it is best to not have anything for an assesor to flag up. In reality the RCBO or RCD will break well within the max disconnection time regardless of the Zs being a tad high.

Metrel Eurotest Mi3100. Low ohms problems

Havent got a metrel so dont know how helpfull i will be. ive found a good way of zeroing leads is to use a piece of copper pipe and keep it in your metre case/box. zero your leads onto this. R1 and R2 is a continuity test.

    Type B and C RCBO's together?

Also Zs is less of an issue when RCBOs or RCDs are protecting the circuit. so no probs
