I have 2x inverter domestic installation and need some advice on the meter position.
In order to meter generation from both inverters, and both inverters needing a separate MCB, I need to place the meter before a 2 way CU. Would the correct approach to be take tails directly from a henley block...
This was discussed a while ago, read the thread if you want more info here: http://www.electriciansforums.net/photovoltaic-solar-panels-green-energy-forum/29853-calculate-distance-between-rows-panels-flat-roof.html
I have just read the document produced by SMA on the subject of type B RCDs with their TL inverters. Section 4 states: "All SMA inverters with transformer and all transformerless SMA inverters mentioned in the following are not capable of feeding DC residual currents to the grid due to the...
I have the same problem with our BC wanting to charge to inspect structural engineer specified strengthening works. Not wanting conflict between my LBC I have passed the matter to NAPIT to investigate.
BC involvement adds an unnecessary additional layer of complexity to the installation process...
We are looking at using the Enerdis MEM03-M, this is MID certified as well. The UK supplier have a minimum order of 6 units so I would be interested to hear of any wholesalers selling individual units. Having said that, it would make for a neater installation with the meter integrated into the...
Did you end up fitting a DIN rail mounted meter? I have a similar request and wanted to know whether it is acceptable for the generation meter to be only MID certified, or does it also need to be OFGEM approved.
I attended the ecoskies course and found it to be informative and useful. My only complaint is that the course material consisted of multiple low resolution powerpoint slides which makes it difficult to read and refer to, they did mention that this would be improved although i suspect it is...
Congratulations Graeme, I thought the late nights would cease after getting through MCS. I swear it has got worse.
Good luck with your business, I'm sure you will enjoy it despite the increase in workload.
Having read the document Worcester referred to again I am certain that building work associated with a pv installation is certifiable by a member of a recognised body. MCS is not purely an electrical qualification and it does cover building regulations, as does part p.
I have not seen the 15%...
This is not in line with what is stated in the item 20 of schedule 3 of the document posted by Worcester
As a member of a recognised certification body I am exempt from any requirement notify LBC and can self certify the work.
A potential customer of mine approached their local planning department following a structural report where additional bracing is recommended and received the following response:
Worcester's above post confirms the situation with regard to the building regulations. Is the best course of...
You can purchase the Engineering Recommendations from the same page you posted, look further down the page under "The following documents may be purchased from ENA:"
I would have said 3 days (24 man hours) is the minimum we spend on the documentation for each project. The customer is paying a lot of money of their system and deserves a quality paperwork throughout and a well organised indexed handover pack. We take great care with the presentation of all our...
